Who would want to hear a NuGNR Locomotive re-recording?

That´s the song by old GNR that I want the most to be re-recorded by NuGNR.

Instrumental version with an extended (4-6 minutes something) outro.

Could be very interesting imo.

Maybe it's better if the current line up get a chance to first record new material together before re-recording songs that were already recorded by the classic line up and reached a certain status.

Personally I think your idea is not very good. Maybe even a waste of time. I'd love to hear it played live by this line up though.

Yeah, NuGNR needs to re-record Locomotive! And DJ needs to be playing on SCOM; after all, he wrote it!

God damn, FUCK Slash and Izzy and Duff and Steven. Those assholes never did anything or wrote anything for GNR, unlike DJ.

(god damn, the cognitive dissonance in some of you is fucking astounding)

I would have hoped that by now, inbetween promoting the fourth New Guns album with Bucket, Robin and Brain, they'd also be slipping deep into the back catalogue and letting Bucket loose on stuff like Locomotive.

I don't say that to wind up the purists because frankly at this point i'd rather have a reunion fuelled by money with the old guys playing a hits show than the current lot playing a hits show.

A studio recording would be cool, a live performance wouldn't - Axl wouldn't be able to pull it off.

If they slowed it down just a touch, I think they'd pull it off. I'd love to hear Bumble do the outro as long as there's no shredding - he does Estranged well, so, same logic there. It would be an amazing way to end the regular set.

The dude who sang the absolute fuck out of Nice Boys (and everything else) at the O2 arena in 2010 could have easily done it justice.

Don't forget that Axl struggled with everything in 2001-2002. But after playing Jungle at every show he knows exactly how to pull it off regardless of what style he's singing in or how tired his voice is (certain exceptions aside). If he bothered to play Prostitute, Twat and Locomotive regularly he'd learn how to master them too.

I want absolutely no studio 'remixes' of older songs. Honestly, at this point, almost twenty years later, I can't imagine anyone would, apart from just hearing them performed live; new material is where it's all at.

Songs recorded 11-13 years ago is hardly "new material" but I get your point. :shades:
