He ticks off names of some groups that hes turned down, Alice Cooper. Bowie. That was one that really hurt. Iggy Pop was another one that really hurt. Those are two gigs I would have liked. Nine Inch Nails is another; Trent (Reznor) even released for a second that I was joining, but he was doing that to stir up shit with Axl (Rose).Clearly a personnel battle ensued when Axl first snatched Robin Finck in the late 90s.I remember that rumor about Richard joining NIN, but I'm not sure who started it. Perhaps Richard knows, perhaps not. It may not have been Trent Reznor, in other words. It certainly wasn't any official press release from Reznor. Not that he suspected Trent propagated the myth, but that it's a matter of fact.While Bowie and Nine Inch Nails would be great to associate your name with, I'm not really surprised that Richard has opted to remain loyal to GNR. He has to think longevity and salary and ultimately GNR would be the most viable option for both all things added up. There is just so much parody and self-parody in the air with everything GNR related that if you have certain sense of humor and certain amounts of " common history", idea of fucking around a bit with GNR and/or GNR fans is too hillarious to dodge. I doubt there was any genuine personal dislike or butthurt between the two til Finck departed GNR bit before release of CD. Due to Finck dramas, I guess current situation is more like...Trent Malicious Glee - - - > (don't stand here) < - - - - - Butthurt Axl...rather than either misliking the other. Deep down inside, I bet both view the other as a talented potentially interesting person that they never want to meet.However, if malicious glee and butthurt clash, it can cause a perfect storm of emo, where TR says evil things about Axl in Twitter and Axl calls TR a whore during his gig in some southern hemi festival or Caesar's Casino.Did it ever come to light what sort of events eventually caused Finck to leave GNR second time around? Back when CD was almost out I mean.It was rumored that Azoff pushed him out as a part of the alleged sabotage he conducted while trying to push Axl to do a reunion. No clue whether there is any truth to that or not, but that was something that was floating around a while back. Nobody from GnR has commented on it directly, nor has Robin himself, though it appears that they're on reasonably good terms, based on Robin taking the stage to play Better in 2011.
