How did it all get this low?

Seriously the state of things in Guns N' Roses really is at an all time low. No word on a new record FIVE YEARS after the last, Axl's housekeep-turned-manager berating a fan after asking about a new record, people actually trying to JUSTIFY Beta's reply, stale setlists, more covers, lame vocals, more hangers on etc etc.

The effect of all this has had this forum turn resoundingly negative and has long term die hard fans turning on Axl. We had a thread about turning this forum into a Pearl Jam orientated forum, we have a thread about Oh My God being about oppressed homosexuality, a thread about a hypothetical tour in Africa and the middle east(WTF). There is literally nothing else to talk about besides hypothetical things that would never happen or just vague threads about song meanings.

Ultimately Axl and "Team Brazil" are to blame. Fans don't get negative unless you treat them that way. We have been given a whole lot of sweet f@ck all for much too long and Beta, Axl, etc dislike us for it? It's no secret they few this forum with contempt and have for quite some time. Jarmo runs his forum like a dictator and he goes on tour with Guns, that is the kind of behavior that Axl rewards.

Would it be so hard to jump back on the forums and talk about the songs of Chinese Democracy? I thought they were promoting it? Hell do it on the official website if Axl doesn't want any part of this forum. It would be free and would lift spirits up. Would it be so hard to play a new song live? Last I checked it was not against the law to play a song live regardless of your situation with the label, hell they did it for almost a decade prior to Chidem's release.

If Axl want this shit to keep going, that is his prerogative but don't expect the overall mood to change and more and more people will view GnR as just a nostalgia act and cover band.

Do not spend too much time on this forum at the moment. Things may seem low

if you read some of the posts here. If you look at the reality of all the successful concerts

as in people having a great time and Axl and the band sounding exceptionally good,

and all the information we have heard about them working on new songs,

I think it sounds more like one of the high points at the moment.

Lol- berating?!? It wasn't the most polite way to reply, but far from berating. You guys crack me up. I agree though the GNR camp really need to shake things up- preferably with a new record. I'm not all that sure that Axl is trying to be anything other than a nostalgia act at this point. I actually think this is precisely his intention at this juncture.

Berating was the wrong word to choose. She was just being stupid.

I wish I had an "I survived the 1995-2008 Guns n' Roses drought" t-shirt. I agree that the entire album situation is laughable. And I'm not sure what's worse. The 1998-2008 "We're working on Chinese Democracy but soon is not the word" period, or the current "Let's cash in on a never-ending same shit different day tour while our Team Brazil management leeches insult fans" period.

I'm edging towards the latter.

Let's get serious here, does someone really expect a +50 year-old Axl Rose to take over the rock world again on his hack's band? After what happened with CD? Really?

Axl seems to have learned his place in the current music world in focusing on becoming the best Gn'R cover band out there, especially so after Slash started playing more and more Gn'R songs too. That's the future of "Gn'R" like it or not.

I think Axl doesn't want to promise anything, and even discuss any plans cause maybe he knows it's very possible it will get fucked up and fans will blame him for it. Doesn't mean he's not interested in releasing more music.

Beta's reply was annoying and kinda disrespectful, and it's frustrating to be a fan of this band especially when most bands are happy to discuss such things, and appreciate the interest of the fans in new music.

It sucks, but it's not surprising. Not enough for me to give up on Axl or anything. I believe it will take time, but we'll get at least one more album.
