Guest NGOG
http://www.totalfilm.com/news/eddie-murphy-to-star-in-beverly-hills-cop-4Paramount is moving forward with Beverly Hills Cop 4, with Deadlinereporting that the studio has secured Eddie Murphy to star in the fourth outing. The franchise had initially been expected to progress as a TV series dreamed up by The Shield creator Shawn Ryan, with the story focusing on Axel Foley’s son, played by Brandon T. Jackson. Murphy had appeared in the pilot episode, reprising his performance as loose-cannon cop Axel, but the show wasn’t picked up despite widespread media interest. However, Murphy’s performance was seemingly enough to persuade studio bosses that there is still mileage in the character, with Paramount taking the plunge with a third sequel. No director has been confirmed as yet, but Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec will be charged with creating a script, having previously penned the screenplay for the forthcoming Ninja Turtles remake. Guest Len B'stard
Hope it aint as fuckin shite as the third one. Those films dont work as well without Murphys particular brand of blue wit, 2 was rated 15 and managed to pull it off but 3 was way too sanitised, along with having a shit storyline. It's been a gradual descent in quality since the first Beverley Hills Cop.
bacardimayne
Oh look, another 80s movie series starring a now washed up guy is being rebooted! Who'da thunk it?

T.wa.T
I hope this doesn't mean an Eddie Murphy comeback. The guy had one semi funny comedy special and a few funny lines here and there. Over rated.
dalsh327
I can't believe they didn't pick up the show. I don't think Eddie's overrated at this point. People expect bad movies from him, or "family friendly" movies. When it comes to his standup - he was the funniest guy on the planet, but it's hard to watch old standup without criticizing it. It's kind of like pop music - at the time it's hilarious but years later, might not hold up. I haven't seen Def Comedy Jam in ages, but I wonder if that is still funny. It's always possible to make a funny movie, but hopefully he's doing this because he found good writers. There's no guarantee people will even want to see it. Guest Len B'stard
I think Eddies stand up stands up even today, i think it's hilairious, same with the Def Comedy Jam stuff. You wanna know why you're wife can't walk a flight of steps, you wanna know why?!?! Cuz she's a fat hairy bitch!
magisme
At one point, Eddie was as good as it got. It's been a long time since that.
Guest Len B'stard
What killed him was stopping making adult films and making em for kids cuz kids films is where the moneys at. Like Eddie Murphy himself said 'it's worth having Roger Eberts thumb up your ass for *he said some huge amount of money here*'.

Estranged Reality
I hope this doesn't mean an Eddie Murphy comeback. The guy had one semi funny comedy special and a few funny lines here and there. Over rated.he was brilliant in his prime. hard to believe he was so young during the height of his career - still in his teens, i think, when he brought SNL back from the brink of cancellation. he was a comedy revelation and then kind of just ran his career into the ground. He's such a cunt, that and bad choices ruined his career. Which is sad because as Dreamgirls proved, he's still capable of greatness. Estranged Reality
I hear he lost the award because he did Norbit the same year he did Dreamgirls.that was the word on the street at the time. it had just been released so it was fresh in the academy voters' minds. his next big comeback was supposed to be Tower Heist, a supposed return to form, and he got decent reviews, but the movie underperformed.then his big oscar hosting gig that fell through last minute. that probably would have opened some doors for him, but i think he was looking for any excuse to drop out of that, and ratner gave him the perfect opportunity.
