What Will Axl Do If All* His Current Bandmates Demand They Make New Songs or They Leave?

I'm not sure forcing his hand would work, but they should state that they want to write and record.

But we know they have.

I think when new tour is on the way, they should say no. And demand studio time instead (if there's enough money).

They'd recieve e-mail from Team Brazil the next day, telling them all individually, that they are fired, and that the clausules in their contract are still in effect.

Even if they don't do anything crazy, after a month, Axl will sue them all for damages and for conspiring to hurt him financially, on the advice of Team Brazil.

As if they'd care. They aren't paid to have opinions about the direction of the band. They all know their roll. Sum of them hung around the sad son of a bitch for 5-8 years before cd was released. And that was gunna b their time to get recognized for their efforts and the fucking asshole couldn't b arsed to get off his couch and promote the record his "bandmates" worked so hard at creating.

Why would they care to release new music knowing it won't do anything for them?

Go silent for a couple of years. Put together another band. Spend another couple of years intermitendly touring with differening levels of success whilst writting an album that focuses on being let down. Couple of leaks, a few failed release dates, another tour or two and BANG, Axl's comeback will be complete....

Attempting to force Axl to do something he doesnt want to do has backfired spectacularly every time anybody has tried it, if the band were to go on strike to try and force his hand, they would be leaving themselves wide open for a lawsuit. The band would then disappear for a few years whilst all the lawsuits are ongoing and new band members are recruited

This is a very interesting premise. Could the current employees of Guns N Roses back Rose into a corner and force him to record and release an album?

I don't think they could, because Rose's reaction would be to fire them rather than give in to someone else's ultimatum. Rose has to be in charge. He may not accept that reality, but history tells us that he must be the one in control.

Which leads to the next interesting premise. What would happen if the current employees did try such a power play and got fired? Rose would never be able to blame them for quitting. And I don't think Rose could reasonably replace the employees at this point and still maintain, even in his mind, the charade that Guns N Roses is still a band.

I suspect that if the current employees tried to back him into the record and release corner, it would spell the end of Rose using the Guns N Roses name. He may still record and release music, and tour, but I don't think he would use the name anymore, even though it is the brand which allows him to play the size of the venues he currently is able to book.

Reed, of course, would never participate in such a power play and so he could play with Rose going forward.

After the ultimatum would fizzle. All works previous talked about and worked on would be run over by a silver ferrari for the sheer fun of it. he would erase all their parts on CD, delay any payments..the fellas would show up to the studio only to find that Axl had decided to have his good friends from Indiana play their key parts. Dizzy would keep his mug shut and still be in the band. BECAUSE AXL didnt learn his lesson the first time around: like the old saying goes...he who fails to learn his history is doomed to repeat it.

A press release would ensue saying to the effect: We tried really hard to work with Ashaba and Bumblefoot and Tommy for over a decade but they, for what ever agenda they personally have, felt like they had a say in where GNR was going. FOr what ever reasons that only they could describe the other hired hands felt like they too had something to say about my band and its direction and decided to side with Ashaba and Bumblefoot. They decided unilaterly to serve their interests above that of GNR and ultimately myself and team Brazils and decided to walk away from the project before they had to be pushed out in wheelchairs or hobble away on canes. Ultimately the loser is you the fans out there as this will inevitably cause a delay in the release of any new music. Throughout the better part of the decade there has been pressure from these individuals to actually record a Guns and Roses album with thier own talents being showcased. It wasnt in the interest of me or my managment to do so. THose individuals chose not to be here and their actions showed that, I am in effect the last man standing.
