jimb0
At the time I didn't appreciate this track as much as I do today, but after CD settling into my system for a good five years, I kinda wish CD had more songs in this type of style and direction. PS. It's kinda sad in a ways that OMG is the most 'Bad Ass' New GNR song. Edited August 9, 2013 by jimb0
ll_tj1
I like OMG as well, although, it did take time for it to grow on me. I hope someday we can hear a mastered version of it. The End Of Days version is clearly a demo in the way it sounds. Certainly would sound better if it were remastered. But to answer your question, no, I would not like a predominantly industrial sounding GNR record. Everything GNR should be blues based rock n roll. Plain and simple. Guest NGOG
I've said many times that OMG is amongst the best in GNR's catalogue. However it's a hit and miss genre and I'm not sure Axl could pull off an entire record in that style. For every OMG and Shackler's (which is middling to good not spectacular) you have a Scraped or Riad N' The Bedouins.

PS. It's kinda sad in a ways that OMG is the most 'Bad Ass' New GNR song.I'd be happier with an album full of demo's. OMG and the 1999/2000 era leaks of IRS, TWAT and Catcher show how raw and kick ass this record could have been. THAT is the album I want. Not the overproduced shite with 19 layers of vocals on top of 23 layers of guitars. That album would've kicked ass. The quality of the songs on CD, overall, isn't that bad. They just look terrible because they're so bloated.
Black Sabbath
I would have been happy, but I don't think I would say "happier". I just want music with Axl on vocals in general.
Randy Lahey
IRS was better in its industrial state. I'm still waiting for the "heavy electronica" album. Edited August 9, 2013 by Randy Lahey

loko
As long there isn't Ashba on any track I'm happy with album.
Lies They Tell
I would have preferred an album with less slow/midtempo songs, and more in-your-face rockers. So yes, in that sense I would have been happier with more OMG-type tracks. But I never wanted GNR to turn into a full blown industrial band. So in that sense I'm happier with the record that we got. Guest NGOG
Look at it this way, how could Axl have kept the style of OMG when he only had the guitars of Dave Navarro and Gary Sunshine briefly?
rockerman
No for me. OMG does have potential and it gets up in your face real quick. The GNR i dug was straight forward blues riffed based songs that told stories about real life events.

That was old gnr. If we're going with this band (and get rid of DJ) some raw industrial sound would work best imo.
magisme
Look at it this way, how could Axl have kept the style of OMG when he only had the guitars of Dave Navarro and Gary Sunshine briefly?I'm thinking more in terms of attitude, not necessarily style. I'm sure Bucket and Finck could have made a nastier album if Axl didn't insist on moping and feeling sorry for himself in every song.

Bumblefeet
Yes, I think a whole album with the OMG approach would be nice, like a 40 minute program with one hard song after the other. They would be able to pick songs from it for decades to play live Edited August 9, 2013 by Bumblefeet
Mastodonny
The album was hyped to be in the OMG vein. That is what is so disappointing to me.
Flayer
A whole album of it, I'm not sure. But more songs like it, absolutely. I'd be all over that.
weaponsnflowers
I'm fukcen drunk biut still manage to write here. Azl myst be drunk all the time or atleast often, since he aparently likes to party and drink beer. Why he hasnt logged on during a drunken cloud full of love for fans is baffling. He must be controlled somehow. Or maybe he just talks all night and doesnt use internet. Fuck anyway
wasted
I think this is what the follow up is meant to be, meaner and nastier songs. Whether the label turns it's nose up at Silkworms type stuff I don't know. But if they arent doing videos for the ballads they might as well just do a record of insane rockers. Apollo
Unfortunately we will never know.Too bad that Axl wasn't an artist who liked to get creative and experiment. And more importantly, share his music with his millions of fans. How cool would it be if since post-GnR, Axl would have released several albums. An industrial type (OMG, Shacklers), a piano-ballad type album (Catchers, Twat, TIL), and acoustic album, a normal album (IRS, The Blues, Better).I wish Axl and Beta (and her children) would learn that Axl's millions of fans would just love any music from their favorite singer. wasted
but there's only 3 million fans world wide who will buy a record?but to me the only thing that makes sense about releasing less material is quality and impact. If they did release 3 albums by now they won't be playing those songs live. By taking it slow they can really work those songs. Right now CD, Better, SOD, TIL seem pretty established in the set list. It's taken 5 years of touring with the record out to do that.Right now would be a great time to put out CD II which would have 4 more songs that cut it live. Then the setlist will be rammed. Axl_morris
Not a big fan of the song but ill listen to it every now and then when im out running. It follows the genre of raid, silkworms, scraped and shackler's, and i only like shacklers out of that bunch. The rest i don't listen too.i believe if bucket stayed we'd have more of those songs, so im glad he left.
