The Breaking Bad Finale Discussion Thread [SPOILERS WITHIN - UP TO FINALE]

I went back to the first episode of this half, and I still don't see the house being in its state due to a fire. I think someone or something stops Jesse before he lights it up in the next episode.

I'm confused. Why did Jesse make the revelation that he did all the sudden?

He realizes Huell snagged his weed, and he remembers that the ricin went missing right after a visit to Saul.

But it still seems a little off to me.

Didn't the doctors rule out ricin poisoning in the s4 finale? Isn't that how Jessie got off?

Just seemed like Jessie jumped on a hunch. Why does this mean Walt poisoned Brock to him when he knows Brock wasn't poisoned by ricin?

Unless I'm missing something...

Really interesting prediction from Reddit:

(no leaks, just a really believable prediction)

After seeing that awesome ending, I believe it will play out like this....

Jesse doesnt light the fire due to seeing something of Hollys in the house. Instead he spray paints Heisenberg on the wall, as sort of a scarlet letter.

Fast forward to a scene with Jesse talking to hank ("Mr White is the devil" from the promo). Skylar wants Walt to kill Jesse but he refuses.

Just when Hank is about to report his findings to the DEA, the Nazis show up and kidnap Jesse, thereby rendering Hanks only witness as M.I.A.

Walt fakes his death (foreshadowing from Maries comments about dying) to get rid of the DEA heat, but gets word the Nazis are going to kill Jesse, so he prepares for war (M60).

What am I missing?

He connected the dots. He still hadn't figured out what happened to the cigarette and it was always lingering in the back of his mind. When he saw how easily Huell lifted the weed off him, it made him realize that the same thing must have happened when he visited Saul in "End Times". He's smart enough to figure out the rest from there.

If it had been ricin, Brock would be dead. Any amount of ricin is lethal.

The key here is that Jesse figured out that Walt lied to him about Gus. It's just like a light went off in his head.

I know this has been said before but WHAT. AN. EPISODE!! I agree that something will stop Jesse from lighting the house up and I bet that guess that he spray paints the name is right on the money.

I'll take that bet. Vince's hint to next week's episode on Talking Bad was that Walt and Skyler go on a stay-cation, and he showed a pic of them in a nice hotel room. Safe to assume SOMETHING happens to the house even though it won't be completely burned down...

I disagree with Jesse spray painting the house. I don't follow the emotion here.

"Oh, I'm about to burn down Mr. White's house! Just kidding, I'll just spray paint because there's a baby in here."

You see, on one end burning down a house is borderline insanity, where spray painting a house is juvenile.

What happens, in my opinion, is Walt comes to his house just when he sees Jesse about to light up a cigarette and torch the place, but he doesn't do it because Walt will come there and kick his ass.

What happens next, I don't know. It is probably a fight perhaps killing Jesse, but I will leave that to the writers.

Along with what Nate said, the other part that bothers me about that is that he buys the M60 a year after what's happening now. Why would it take so long for the Nazis to get around to offing Jesse?

'Cause they had him cook for a year?

Good theory.

That video... I remember saying over and over on the speculating thread "Whatever we think of, the writers are gonna bring up a new idea no one ever though of that is gonna blow our minds."

It's always like this.

And how is Jesse gonna paint HEISENBERG at the house? He doesn't have ink with him, and no one knows who Heisenberg is, wouldn't make much of a sense.

Seems like something he'd do just to fuck with Walt though. He's not exactly emotionally stable right now.

Got this at IGN:

Just realized something interesting.
You know how in the first half of the season, when Walt goes to visit Hank at the office for one of those "Waterworks Sessions", Hank mimes shooting his head with a gun for having to deal with Walt.

When that action is put a little more generally, doesn't it sound like a possible Chekov's gun?

-

Chehkov's Gun:

"Chekhov's gun is a dramatic principle which requires that every element in a narrative be necessary and irreplaceable, and that everything else be removed.[1][2][3] Stated by Anton Chekhov, "Remove everything that has no relevance to the story. If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off. If it's not going to be fired, it shouldn't be hanging there."[3][4] Under this principle, a seemingly unimportant object ("Chekhov's gun") that is shown or mentioned in the narrative will serve as a plot device or have some other significance later (i.e. foreshadowing). Variations on the statement include:"

I was really hoping Jesse would brutally shoot Saul to death, gangster style. I love Saul, but it would have been the perfect "oh shit" moment.

It deff would be surprising, but I think this would make everyone turn against Jessie, and I'm guessing he's supposed to be the good guy in all this

I never bother with this stuff because half of it is red herrings and false foreshadowing.

If Saul dies I might honestly shed a tear.
