GNFR
Are people here really arguing that Guns N' Roses existed before the AFD lineup? The name existed, but it wasn't GUNS N' ROSES. Jesus christ.
WhazUp
Going Down is the living proof the vault has quality stuff that could easily be better than stuff on CD. Almost the official end to the question "Why would Axl not release all of the best stuff he had as CD?"I agree, I would easily take Going Down over Riad, Scraped, and Madagascar to be honest Edited August 19, 2013 by WhazUp
Stro
If you have the song, you can put it up on Chordify and it figures out the chords pretty accurately, although it doesn't take into account that tuning is in Eb.
crashoride
Good song but Axl's vocals need more rasp.
One.In.A.Million
All I can say is Buckets killswitch at the end FTW, even that makes me excited as fuck... sad I know.
Vincent Vega
What say you?Could Goin Down be newGNR's You Could Be Mine? It's def one of the best rock tracks of the past decade, without question.
Matthias
I don't think that Going Down and You Could Be Mine have that much in common to be honest. And I also don't think it's their best song since YCBM, i.e. TWAT is a better song imho, or at least I prefer it. username
Stop making stupid threads. These songs have NOTHING in common and there's already a thread to discuss Going Down. Edited August 19, 2013 by username
trqster
Going Down is a good rock song, but truth is that even on CD there are a couple of better songs, so I can't really see a wow factor about it.
Bobbo
To me, it's the best nu song. Not that that's saying much. It's not gonna do much to change perceptions about the nu guys, but it is a solid rock song from top to bottom. Something CD mostly lacks. GET OFF AXLS BACK
No, its garbage.Sorry but I really don't get the love for it.
wasted
maybe this is what we can expect from the current guys, punk rock songs with Axl singing backing vocals.
Darkness Descends
What say you?Could Goin Down be newGNR's You Could Be Mine? It's def one of the best rock tracks of the past decade, without question. Not only is it a passable mediocre song, its not the best produced track leaked. Im not sure that its even worthy of being released by the current lineup as a single, let alone it be the best of the decade or the best GNR has produced.
the rush
Hell no. WTF are you guys on about? this a mediocre song even by mediocre bands standards. has nothing to do with GNR. God I wish I've never heard it and never had to make a connection between this song and GNR name. All of the songs on Chinese Democracy are way way better than this. This is the first song that came out under GNR band name that has no musical connection whatsoever to the GNR name
bacardimayne
Since I Don't Have You Sympathy for the Devil Better There Was a Time Catcher in the Rye are definitely better
Young_Gun
The OP called Going Down a "glorified B side" and now he thinks it is the best rock song in the last decade. Better, Prostitute, TWAT, hell even Chinese Democracy was a better song than Going Down.
Towelie
I dig Going Down, but most of the tracks on ChiDem are better. The only tracks I prefer it to are the blatant fillers (If The World and Scraped).Best song since YCBM?? Not by a long shot.
Scumcat Esq.
maybe this is what we can expect from the current guys, punk rock songs with Axl singing backing vocals.I wish it were so, but this is not a punk rock song...

Johnny Drama
I just listened to this for the first time. Did someone say generic, boring shit or what? Was only worth a shit when you could heart Axl.Not close to anything on Contraband, IFOCS, Apocalyptic Love or Chinese Democracy.
Young_Gun
The lyrically content, vocal delivery, song structure, solo etc are all sub-standard in my opinion. Best thing about it is the intro and the Axl backing vocals. Even Riad is better than Going Down. Edited August 19, 2013 by Young_Gun

Cosmo
Right now I'm still a bit biased towards Going Down 'cause it's new and all but I can say I definitely prefer it to Sorry, TIL, Scraped, Riad and Silkworms.
suckerpunched03
It's not even as good as dust n bones or 14 years or any other original gnr song without axl on vocals
YOUCOULDBEMINE.
Lol Apocalyptic Love.I just heard it for the first time and I like it, I always loved Tommy's solo stuff and I hope that the next album will sound more like this.
