I should have also prefixed my comment by also clarifying that I equally no pretty much nothing about Prince! I did have one album on CD, the one a UK newspaper distributed for free, but I sold it I think a few years back to help fund my house purchase at the time. Keep 'em coming! I was actually forgot all about that, I shared the video with a friend that is right into Prince and they reminded me that it came with the Daily Mail. Amazing. Is that now highly sought after? Dean 2,412
Everyone seemed to buy me a record for Christmas. I won't be purchasing anything until I've made my way through them all, though I fancy buying one of the record washers for some of my older ones. I'll grab that next month I think, so it gives me plenty time to make my way through all of these and after I finish with them, I've been popping them into anti static sleeves - cheers for that Russ!

Yesssssss. That makes me happy. Anti static sleeves do so much for taking care of your records. Like I said in the video, MoFi sleeves are nice but there are cheaper alternatives that are just as good IMO. I just had this pack delivered yesterday: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MPL2QGD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_1R25FbHS9CZH0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I got a gift card for a local record store yesterday so I'm reasonably sure I'm gonna go spend it today. This is the first time in a long time that I don't have something in mind prior to going to the record store, so I may actually dig in the bins for once!
RussTCB 21,700
What a productive trip to the record store. Picked up a copy of Collective Souls second album. I've bitched for YEARS about how it's never been pressed on vinyl. About a month ago, it got its first pressing but it's been out of stock everywhere online. Went to Dearborn Music with my gift card, went right to the Cs and sure as shit, they had one copy left!

Agreed, I'm not a huge Pink Floyd fan, but I completely agree it is by far the strongest of the albums I've heard (Dark Side Of The Moon, Animals, WYWH, The Wall.) ToonGuns 622
Just picked up Maggot Brain by Funkadelic. Managed to find a relatively reasonably priced copy off Discogs, will get delivered next week. Have heard there are some ropey pressings of this so hope mine is ok. Eternal Idol is one of my favorites, the Tony Martin era doesn't get it's due. I don't even know the last time I poked my head into this thread, but I've been picking up a few things here and there again lately, mostly newer releases. I went a little crazy on the new Mr. Bungle album and bought three of the different pressings, two different pressings of the new Maiden live album (Including the amazing Mexican tri-color version), the new Stray Cats live album on baby blue vinyl, and the stunning Ace Of Spades 40th anniversary box set - one of the best deluxe editions of an album I've ever come across. Also in cataloguing some stuff on Discogs, I discovered some of the early Maiden albums have a Barbados pressing available - definitely wanna track those down just for the obscurity of it

Same here. Forbidden is his weakest, but it's far from terrible. Eternal Idol and especially Headless Cross are both top 5 Sabbath albums for me.
ToonGuns 622
I love Tyr. Love the mix (drums are a bit loud, but I'm a drummer...!), the sound is lovely and polished, and the opening track is a killer! I don't think Forbidden ever got a vinyl release did it? Roll on the remix of Forbidden...!
The Dissident 166
Forbidden did at one point I believe get a vinyl release.
estrangedtwat 1,286
God damn it. Ugh. Tell me if this has happened to you. For about a year now, I've had Porno For Pyros' "Good God's Urge" on my wantlist. It never got any special releases; a few years back there was a reissue for RSD on black vinyl. Really bare bones. No insert even! But it was a few years ago, and I missed it. Somehow, I was able to get an order in for it on tower records website here in Japan. It was backordered, but it was the normal price, about $25. I put my order in back in October......I got a shipping notice TODAY. I was pretty happy actually....cool....I'm finally gonna get the record. Then I went to discogs. Turns out that sometime LAST MONTH the record was reissued on translucent pink vinyl. Only 500 copies. Shit. I'd much rather have had that. Instead I waited three months for the shitty boring black version. What a supreme let down.

Shit. I'd much rather have had that. Instead I waited three months for the shitty boring black version. What a supreme let down. I haven't had exactly that happen yet but I recently had something occur that just SUCKED. One of my long time grails on vinyl has been Zakk Wylde - Book of Shadows. The original, not the shitty sequel album. In any case, a company recently pressed it on vinyl FINALLY. A friend and I talked about it and we were both super stoked about it. Well the release came and went but I couldn't get one. I talked to my buddy who said "Oh, I got one. I had two in my cart, but I wasn't sure if you'd want it, so I just ordered one". Wtf! This dude is VERY aware of how much I love this album, could have grabbed one for me, but just didn't..... Now they're going for like $300+ on Discogs which I just can't float the money for. I'm soooo bummed to know it's out there finally but I can't afford to get one, on top of the fact that my buddy could've grabbed one for me but just didn't. Again, not even close to the same thing, but your story reminded me of what just happened to me recently. I'm really sorry about your situation too. That just sucks. estrangedtwat 1,286
Nah, it's a similar situation....there's records out there we want and can't have! Although yours sucks more cause $300 is a lot of dough for a brand new record. I checked ebay and the P4P record was only $75. Not even THAT outrageous....I'd have even bought it....IF I hadn't just dropped $25 on the lamer version. Oh well. Maybe someday I'll pick it up. Don't know if anyone here is into Jane's/Porno.....but Good God's Urge is by far the superior of the two Porno For Pyros releases. If you've never listened to it, give it a try...it's a quick and fun little record.

I have the RSD one as well as the tie-dyed RSD release of the S/T. Both great albums.

estrangedtwat 1,286
Well, the bullmoose store wouldn't take my Japanese credit card, so thankfully my brother dropped the $35 to get me the pink version of that Porno for Pyros album I wanted!! Ha ha ha ha....suck it ebay and your $75 scalpers!! Thanks so much for the tip Stiffy.....I just assumed they were long gone and never thought to look at the actual website. Ahh...feels like a victory!! Also....since you dudes are pretty good at this....I'll throw a hail mary and see if anyone has a lead on my current obsessions: In 2018, Milan records released the AKIRA soundtrack. I got the boring black version. Booo. All the good stuff I didn't find out about til later. They had all kinds of great variants, all limited of course. Right now there's a new one, on orange vinyl, but I think it's ugly. I want the one on "red smoke" vinyl, and the even more elusive "one red disc, one white disc" versions. All limited, all sold out. Just thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone has a lead, but no biggie if you don't. I expect these are long gone and will only show up on ebay and discogs sporadically for big bucks. Dean 2,412
Still making my way through everything from Christmas. Roger Waters 'The Wall Live in Berlin' is on transparent vinyl, beautiful looking record. I think I've got about 8 or so records left, it's been great just finding the time to throw multiple things on during the evenings and is something I'd like to keep up with. Yesterday near the end of the working day, I threw on Original Soundtracks by Passengers (Eno/U2). That record chills me the fuck out and one of the very few gems of my collection. I'll hopefully start cataloguing everything at some point on Discogs, I originally just used that to keep tabs on Guns and Queen stuff but it'd be good to have everything kept in one place. There's so much to love on that live Waters album but so much to not love too haha. It'll always have a special place in my heart though, good and bad. That came out right at the start of my obsession with Pink Floyd. So having listened to and watched Delicate Sound of Thunder to death, it was amazing to see Roger doing his side of things. I have an original pressing, so I passed on the RSD reissue but I know a lot of people who'd never heard the album prior to the reissue.
