Andrew Stockdale perfect frontman for VR

Stockdale can hit all the high notes with a growl of zepplin and a mixture of AXL. I think it would be the perfect scenario , Early on VR was talking about a singer from Australia , I think Stockdale would make this band back to being a monster band, his vocals fit Slash's style perfect !

No, no he's not. He can kind of only sing one way, and I've never understood why everything thinks he's so good. He's fine, but if he were really good, Wolfmother would be a bigger deal than they are. The guy has an interesting voice, that kind of always sounds the same, and aside from that he's not some incredible songwriter or performer.

Andrew is THE best new frontma in rock music. He's MK plus a shitload of criativity, perhaps moreso than Slash has been showing since VR. Plus his voice is amazing. He'd be better than Scott, IMO. Too bad he's probably a pain in the ass, considering Wolfmother can't keep a steady line-up for two tours straight.

Hmm, random thought just came to mind. Julian Casablancas fronting VR sure would be interesting. It'd never happen, but the GN'R guys showed up in their Somedays video, and they owe a lot of their early career path to the same game play as GN'R (great, popular debut album, diva frontman, trouble following up on its success, rumours of inner band tension, etc.).

Really love By The Sword. Love to hear more of him and Slash together. But I don't know if he has the versatility.

I thought the same about Myles Kennedy based on Starlight and Back To Cali but then they did a whole album together and it turned out kind of bland. Where it was good it was good despite not because of Myles.

From the times I've seen wolfmother live, his voice can be a little hit or miss --- wheras myles kills it every fucking time

VR without Scott isn't VR. It's like what STP is trying to do. Idk what it is, but it sure as fuck isn't Stone Temple Pilots. You can't just replace the voice of a band.

Not when it's a veteran band but VR only has two albums. Bruce Dickinson and Brian Johnson would agree with me.

A while back I would've said Chester Bennington was the man for VR – he sings with passion (unlike Myles), he's got a similar vibe to Weiland (well, obviously, or STP wouldn't have hired him), and he can hit the high notes in the old GN'R tracks, unlike Scott. But his stint with STP has nixed that – I can't see him wanting to become Scott Weiland's non-union Mexican equivalent.

The obvious choice for me now is Jeff Angell from Walking Papers – he's got a similar vocal range to Scott, albeit more gravelly, he's got the same sexy-cool vibe, he writes bluesy songs that you could easily picture Slash noodling over. And, crucially, he's got a good turn of phrase when it comes to lyrics – vastly better than Myles' "Starlight is bright tonight" guff.
