Apollo
We all know that current attendance isn't that strong for any of the members of the classic GnR line-up.Just as a rough guess, in the United States, if Loaded, Izzy, Slash, or GnR toured on their own, attendance would be something like 1,000 for loaded, 500 for Izzy, 3,000 for Slash and 5,000 for Axl's GnR. (Yes, some places would be more - some places would be less. Ticket prices are also important). But just for averages sake - my numbers are pretty close.WHAT would happen if all four bands toured together? WITHOUT Slash joining stage with the current GnR. Maybe Izzy, Duff, Slash all join each other's bands for a song or two. But no Slash with GnR. Maybe Duff and Izzy come out for one or two songs, but that's it.This isn't combination of the bands. It's four different bands playing their own sets. With an occassional guy joining another band for a song. What do you think that tour would do crowd wise in the US? magisme
A riot would breakout somewhere cuz the crowd would be expecting the classic lineup to take the stage together. Or maybe the people who would care enough are too old to riot over a band anymore. I don't know.Anyway, I'll guess 12,500-17,500, but I'm pretty much just making up numbers. Weird thread, dude. batman007
In my opinion, the attendance wouldn't rise by much if people are certain that Slash and Axl wouldn't share a stage. On the other hand, people would pay to see Izzy and Duff with Axl. If the old members would strictly do their own thing, no success. With a special guest spot, sure. classicguns4life
It would be a great way to piss a lot of people off. The almost reunion tour. LolDamn right! Yeah, I actually think it would boost ticket sales for all of them. Even if they were to have a very specific press conference to lay out these plans that Slash and Axl would never share the stage, all GNR fans would come out to see this; 1. to see all of the old members actually having fun with their own bands, and 2. that there would always be the unspoken possibility of a full original reunion. I think obviously there would be logistical problems, such as how Slash and Axl would never have to see each other backstage which would be complicated and the fact that Slash would have to open up for Axl if Axl was going to keep the name GNR.Otherwise, that would be an amazingly cool show. If they charged the price that Axl currently charges for GNR, you'd certainly be getting a lot of bang for your buck. I mean, first off, it would be a great way to see Izzy, being comfortable and "there" which is quite difficult for many people. Just to sort of see him on stage would be a thrill. Then you have Duff who would put on a very good set as always. Slash totally killing it, and Axl... doing his thing. I think the positive from a tour like that, not that it would ever happen, would be they would all be at their best trying to one up each other in a friendly way. I think Axl would really step up his game as to not seem like the "weak" one from the tour. I mean, this situation would almost be like if the members of KISS all were on the same tour, yet never played with each other. You get to see all of them, but also never together, so the question comes into play is it worth it? IMO, yes and it would be one hell of a tour and totally interesting. One last thing, you'd also have to figure out who covers what GNR songs during each of their sets. I feel like you'd have to settle on hearing a few songs multiple times that night.
