Bucketslash
Hey Marc,What were the songs like GNR Pre-AFD? Were there any differences to the songs back then/different melodies and guitar solos? And did you ever see GnR with Tracii Guns, Hollywood Rose, Rapidfire or Road Crew? Anything you can remember or talk about from back then? Edited September 22, 2013 by Bucketslash
DieselDaisy
It is in his book mate. He has photos and setlists and dates of the shows he saw of, all of those bands - except Rapid Fire (which I think was before Marc knew Axl). Get his book. You will not regret it. recklessroad
The songs sounded the same as the record with the same guitar solos. The only song that changed a few times was Anything goes. I saw 10 of the 12 songs off AFD being preformed for the first time. jman2000
I have a good question for you Marc - so which version of Anything Goes is your favorite? The lyrics from Hollywood Rose or the new version? Personally I like the Hollywood Rose version best.
recklessroad
There was one in between too but I like the first one the best.
SweetRose
I like the Anything Goes that ended up on AFD.
DieselDaisy
I have a vague memory of the story behind that third Anything Goes. Apparently GN'R did not want it on the album because it was old and inferior to the rest of the Appetite material that had been written more recently by Guns N' Roses and not Hollywood Rose. I cannot remember if it was Clink or Zutaut but one of them insisted on it being on Appetite for Destruction so Axl, to freshen it up a bit and make it more relevent, went away and wrote some new lyrics.
