Rovim
2012, when I was at the show. Was thinking to myself 'he still got it'. Had a really great time. Now it's just back to what comes with being a Gn'R fan. Just waiting for Axl to throw us a bone. Yep.
Raz0r
I stopped being proud of being his fan when I learned he was a wife beater. I'll always love his lyrics, and the art he creates, but it's hard to like him as a person after learning that.

It's not like your friends or buddies or family with the guy. And unless you are a super hot chick, 99.9% of the time he wouldn't give you the time of day if you tried to chat with him in a real life situation (not at a concert or meet/greet).I find it extremely odd somebody would say they were "proud" to be a fan of any rock singer. Some people need more positive role models in their lives or need to get out of their houses and meet more people.

Just you know, you respect what he does as a musician. As fans we relate to the music which reflects that musician's views, thoughts, and feelings. It's not a big deal. I'll always love his lyrics, and the art he creates, but it's hard to like him as a person after learning that. The person who he is is not defined by being a wife beater. This is unfair with him, people are much more than their wrong actions and broken relationships. He has his issues but he really worked to became a better person, he still does. I think Axl was very honest about his terrible behavior and disturbing views about women, he wasn't proud of what he did.

But I agree, a persons mistakes don't define them, how they deal with those mistakes does. If he's owned up and atoned for what he's done wrong, I would certainly respect him for it.
