wfuckinga
Marc, I'm not really a big Aerosmith fan, but I do know that Joe and Steven had a falling out in the 80's. joe toured with his own bands while Steven hired new guys and continued to tour with Aerosmith. I think Brad and Tom also left but I'm not sure. Eventually, they were all able to reconcile, an they're touring together, they've released new music together, they're accepting awards with each other, etc. does rhis remind you of Axl and Slash or Axl and any of the other guys, and do you think, that like Joe and Steven, Slash and Axl will be able to reconcile and do all those things again? ChristmasFnatic
Nah. Too long of a time has passed. Though never say never I guess.Difference is, Tyler and Joe, and the rest, have this brotherhood like bond. And they can set ego aside when its needed. Hell, there are times they toured without speaking with eachother... in the end, they always make up. (mostly its Tyler who approaches the others... like sabotaging/surprise appearance on one of Joe's concerts)... Cant see Axl doing that lol. And if Slash do it, well, you know what happened. recklessroad
Back in 1995, I thought that it was going to be just like Aerosmith. They needed a break to get out what they wanted to do until they see that they did need each other. Slash figured it out pretty quick. I think with Axl it's a little different. I think Axl knew the whole time that he needed Slash but couldn't get Slash to go with what he was trying to do. Then Axl was hurt by things that Slash said about him and wanted him to apologize in a statement to the press before he would work with him again. As time went by, Axl's anger grew and now I really don't know where he stands. I also think too much time has passed for there to be anything left between them working together. The fact is they are both angry at each other for different reasons. The difference is Slash was willing to just let the passed go and forget the reasons that he was upset with for the chance of turing so the people would have a chance to see the band that put those classic songs together do them live and maybe even record something new. Axl is built different, I think its victory of death. I don't think he can just forget about the reasons that he is upset with Slash and take one for the team. There is just too much anger and hurt. Lim666
Marc, we've been talking about this in the main forum for a while. But we couldnt locate any "very evil" things Slash openly had said what would make another man hate him. what exactly Axl is so upset about? can it be that Axl simply needs some ventil in his life (Slash) where he can focus to put out all his anger, unhappiness and frust he has in his own life? It wasn't any one specific thing. Axl is very sensitive and he felt betrayed when Axl left and initially said some kind of bad stuff without also saying anything helpful. He sees it as Slash actively working against Axl to ruin Guns N Roses which Axl still cared very much about. And because Slash has never soberly apologized, or has never actually said "I was wrong about all of those things I said before", Axl has not moved past it. Its kind of as simple as that. To remedy it, it could be as simple as Slash recording a video saying "Hey, I fucked up in the 90's, I said and did some stuff I'm not proud of, but I would like to apologise to Axl" and posting it on his Twitter and Facebook. I think Axl should just learn that things don't always have to go the way he wants it.

Lim666
but Axl has even said more evil things, actually many fans think HE should apologize for playing a major part in breaking up one of the best bands ever! and yes, thats the AFD-UYI line-ups, no need to twist this, thanks! I'm not saying what I outlined is necessarily the correct way things should happen. I think just for some reason thats what Axl is pushing for and won't accept anything less. I agree that I don't know why Slash should have to apologize to the world for Axl to consider talking to him again but its just what Axl is.
