saber_
Do you think it would be good for Axl to get away from GnR, go into the studio, hammer out an album with others (where he's not the leader, just one of the group)? Change the dynamic, y'know? Kinda like Chickenfoot or something. He could include some songs that maybe started out as GnR ideas, but never made it, rework them, let others help mold them, etc. Do you think it would be therapeutic for Axl to do a quick side project and release an album, maybe play a few shows? (i guess this might be the wrong section, move if necessary)
magisme
I'd like to give this idea the benefit of the doubt and take it seriously, but I just can't. Axl would have to be an entirely different person for this to have a chance of becoming reality.
CoolRanchDressing
I don't think he has the ambition to think about anything other than what buckethead left him with.

DieselDaisy
I think it would be therapeutic for Axl to do anything right now considering the guy does not see to be doing anything these days beyond greatest hits tours. Even quit Guns and become a landscape gardner.
wasted
he could go solo do a piano electronica albun.
axlsalinger
Was actually going to suggest this myself. If the weight of the GNR name is too much for him, and Guns fans just "aren't ready" for more experimental material to be released under that umbrella, just step out from underneath it and release a solo album. Coma16
I think it would be a good idea but let not get too ahead of things. He might not be legally allowed to.

Its win win. Theres prob a contract that stops. In someways the advance the label gave him trapped him into finishing CD. He might owe the label 2 more records by a certain date. Maybe someone here knows.
username
He seems more in the mindset of what makes him the most (and easiest) money than what's therapeutic. I don't think Axl has the desire to create anything new, let alone release it.
classicguns4life
It would, but he'd never do it. Simple as that.
