liers
It's one of my favorite songs, I honestly think it's better than November Rain. It's shorter, and honestly better lyrically. The thing that made NR great was Slash's solos and the piano, the thing that makes Prostitute great is the lyrics and piano. Both songs were songs that Axl labored intensely over. Prostitute is probably the most radio friendly song on CD.That said, putting aside slash, bucket, etc, which do you think axl did a better writing job? Graeme
Don't know if I'd call it a ballad. It's in my top 2 GN'R tracks... I don't really understand how anyone could dislike it. It's well-written lyrically, it's dynamic, melodic, has some great guitar playing and that outro is just sublime.

DR DOOM
The first time I heard it, I was cringing at the start-but then BAM.Its a stunning song, Axl's vocals soar and Bucket and Brain tear it up.Im not going to compare it to NR though.edit: by that I mean its unfair to compare them Edited October 8, 2013 by DR DOOM
Bulldog
Probably my least favorite GNR song ever. All style no substance

smoke
Hard to deny November Rain so I won't. But Prostitute is such a fantastic tune. So powerful in leak form but suffered in mastering or something. It got "flattened" a bit. It's amongst the best stuff on CD though and I'd rather listen to it any day over NR. magisme
No, it's not. It's not bad. It's not great. It has some potentially great moments, but shit production and subpar vocals kind of ruin it.
classicguns4life
Its easily one of my favorites from Chinese Democracy. Then again, I think all of Chinese Democracy is still not as good as anything from classic GNR, so I don't know where I'd really rank it in the grand scheme of things. But it would be in my top 4 from Chinese along with the title track, TWAT, and IRS.

Cosmo
My second favorite GnR song. After TWAT and before estranged. It's one of CD/s three masterpieces along with Catcher and TWAT. Amazing song. Should be the last song before the encore. WITH the outro.
Graeme
My second favorite GnR song. After TWAT and before estranged. It's one of CD/s three masterpieces along with Catcher and TWAT. Amazing song. Should be the last song before the encore. WITH the outro.Problem is that any attempt to play it live has always been a disaster and the outro gets completely omitted. I've said for years that I think it needs some serious rehearsal time, particularly from Axl and it could be one of the highlights of any GNR set.It would appear it appeals to people who like Estranged, which is probably my 3rd favourite GNR song after Prostitute. The people who're putting it down just because it was on CD are daft...
liers
It's a good album closer too. They should play it after PC to close the set. It really is kind of a reflection on Axl and the CD recording era.
Gordon Comstock
When it first leaked, listening to it on that stream site it was up on, I thought the intro was bizarre for a Guns song and then the guitar kicked in, and it was awesome. It's definitely one of the best Guns songs, somewhere in the top 10. The multitrack is fantastic.

The people who're putting it down just because it was on CD are daft...It's been played live twice, both in 2009. Tokyo and Osaka. The band wasn't bad, but axl was... But... axl wasn't consistent either in 2009. He was a mix of mickey mouse and rasp. 2010 he was raspy, Now he's mickey mouse, either way he sings more consistently, as opposed to switching from no rasp to rasp halfway through a sentence. I think now is probably the best time to perform prostitute live since 2002.... Prostitute is one of the few songs that I don't think would sound good with rasp. ohlovelyrita
It's a great song, the meaning of the lyrics are lost on me. Is he saying that he met a girl more damaged than him or he met a girl who tried to save him? Or both exist? Prostitute love triangle, all abound with impure intentions?
