I went on there for about a year before I couldn't take it anymore. Hipsters everywhere, people acting like it's uncool to like Radiohead on a Radiohead board, it was kind of disgraceful. Though I'll probably go back once Radiohead gets back into gear.

I do not know what Len is referring to but he might be thinking of the fact that the Beatles fans have this sort of assumption that, ''The Beatles are the best group ever ever ever and if you disagree you are retarded.'' In fairness, they may be right they may be right, but it does not make it any easier to swallow if you are not a Beatlemaniac yourself.

To a point yes but at the same time i like a bit of that, bit of arrogance about your own ends.

My gripes are...firstly, they're all old gits, you go to their gigs and it's like the fuckin' Darby and Joan, and the ones who are young'll be like...some lad from the Ukraine with his mum. Now there's nothing wrong with all of that, it just shows how fuckin' crap rock n roll has become...or rather that generation of music. I'm talking about McCartney gigs here as obviously you don't get much Beatles gigs these days but they're all fuckin' Beatles fans anyway.

So you go these gigs and if you're the slightest bit pissed or your elbow touches someone or you wanna have a bit of a jump around you're fuckin' cuz you might end up knocking Mother Mcree's dentures out or something. Also, they're just fuckin' creepy, turning up outside shows with little clear plastic baggies with fag ends in em goin' 'Paul smoked this in 1978 when i saw him in Caerphilly playing with Wings' or some bollocks like that, creepy fuckers.

Loads of these 'soccer mom' types turn up, from Boston or wherever and it's like, fuckin' hell, i came here for a rock n roll show. This goes for Queen, Zeppelin and the fans of all bands like that too, Springsteen is another one like that...and probably The Stones now too although i never been to one of their shows.

I think you're absolutely spot on with this. Especially about the creepy fuckers.

For me personally I've never been to any other forum except a forum about designer handbags. (Yes, there are actually thousands of people discussing bags). And I occasionally frequent the Vogue forums.

Man you sound exactly the sort I'd want next to me at a gig. Like you know like you just can't fuckin handle standing in a spot when you're at a gig, fuck control, just pogoing and running into cunts innit?

I mean dont get me wrong i dont mean you gotta mosh at every show but at least fuckin dance, jump up and down and that, if you're too fuckin old or too soft then maybe you should stay at home.

I think the problem arises when like, the people from The Beatles era are too old for gigging and all the young ones that got into em just saw em off the telly and thought wow how cool is that and turn up on the day without having thought about the reality of what being stuffed in a room full of people that have come to enjoy live music is all about.

oh yeah of course I mean hypothetically say if you or I were transported to some time before 1966 and we were able to attend a Beatles gig you wouldn't be acting like its a Slayer gig but yeah of course its all about the music just moving you isn't it? I hate when people say "I don't dance" etc. I mean I ain't ever put an effort in to dance or sing or nothing like you like some music that's your body's reaction. Isn't it?

van halen links forum is fairly active. At least it was when I was going there right around the release of adkot. I stopped going because most hard core VH fans have real strong feelings about gnr. They are threatened by them or something. I guess its because VH were the kings of rock untill gnr came along. I just usually ended up in defending gnr type arguements, most even think the illusions and lies suck. They say gnr only has one good album and things like that. Or Axl sucks, Dave is better. I had to drop the zeppelin bomb on them to shut them up. Even VH fans have to bow down to the mighty Zeppelin

I go there primarily to find out about new music. I steer clear of reading most of the posts, and I don't post myself, although I am registered under same username. They have lots of links for recently released and recently leaked albums. Their policies on links are lax as hell.
