Rovim Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I can hear it! The classic rock sound! Listen to those tasty bluesy licks beautifully played by Bumble on Shackler's solo.Seriously though, Wasted is right. It's there.
wasted Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Classic rock is rock that becomes classic though i guess. Its just a way to phrase it, theres still 70s influences on almost every track. But shouldnt CD be filed under Alternative on amazon?I think before you listen to CD people should be asked if they like Nirvana, Korn, NIN, Zombie, Faith no more, RATM. If you dont its going to be tough. Its so uncompromising in that way.I love Korn, NIN, Zombie, RATM, Ministery, Tool etc.I don't like CD, but yes, I think it better could be filed under Alternative?thats the flipside, it polarizes the listeners. You have korn fans who hate classic rock... but i if if u like nu metal and GNR you have a better, along you arent old gnr martyr. On paper CD seems like a very bad idea, it must be worth doing. I can hear it! The classic rock sound! Listen to those tasty bluesy licks beautifully played by Bumble on Shackler's solo.Seriously though, Wasted is right. It's there.i hear some chuck berry, Alice cooper. Like 4 Lane Black top meets Lucy in Sky with Diamonds they next evo of Double talking Jive and Locomotive. For some reasonN I fail to hear any classic rock in their sound on CDnot really in the sound thats more 90s grunge, industrial, nu metal. Produced by the cazam of RATM and mixed by Wallace of Nirvana. Remember Baker of Queen also produced it. Forgotten what Sean Beavan did. I think they were afraid of his version of the album. But stand back and each song is like remake of another classic rock song, mixed with GNR and a 90s influence. Theresa secret recipe.
John Bonham Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Street of Dreams is a knockoff of Whitesnake's Here I Go Again andChinese Democracy is a knockoff of The Scorpions' Rock You Like a Hurricaine
Mr. Dude Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I think you're dead on- especially in the comparisons drawn on the latter half of the record. I love the simple complexity (or the complex simplicity or something like that) on Chinese Democracy. There is just so much there. Just when I think I"m getting bored with it, I discover a new groove in the multi-layered sonic soundscape that I hadn't picked up on before.
