What is the Greatest Guns N' Roses' Song?

Would you want to do a tournament of all GNR official releases and see what everyone thinks is the best one?

I saw this on the STP board, and it's really cool.

The matches between songs would be randomized, and a new round would take place after everyone votes.

You'll be able to vote for each match once.

All official releases would be eligible to be in the tournament

We'll decide, through a poll, what songs will not make the cut in order for there to be 64 songs for the tournament to work.

Would you want to do this?

IMO it would be Paradise City. There are great songs like Jungle, Nightrain, Patience, November Rain, Civil War, Coma, Estranged, You Could Be Mine, but I think Paradise City is the one that oozes and epitomizes GNR. Like, it wouldn't be a contest. Maybe its not everyone's personal favorite but everyone knows the greatness of the song.

LOL Paradise City. It has to be one of the worst GNR tracks ever. That song is everything wrong with shitty 80s music.

PC is my least favorite "popular" GnR song.

And I'm a huge fan of late 80's hairband music. It was a fun era. Lots of guitar solos, lots of singers hitting high notes - just fun songs.

GnR was supposed to be one of the bands that killed off that genre ..........but PC is the one GnR song that fits right into the hair band type of song.

Good idea.

But I wouldn't do the randomized ranking each round. You could end up with Shotgun Blues vs My World in one battle and November Rain vs Estranged in another match-up.

I'd say make up your own bracket...........and then let people make some comments about it as your bound to be a little biased towards your own personal favorites, and then do a quick re-adjustment.......and let her rip.

The chorus is glam and Axls gay synth doesn't help but I still don't know if I could call it glam.

Anything Goes on the other hand. ....anyway my vote is for SCOM if I can pick only one.

Ya good idea, I think what we should do is a poll before this starts. It will have every GNR official release, and everyone will pick a set number they want in the tournament. The songs that get the least amount of votes don't make the cut. Then the songs with the highest poll votes are the top seeds. Edited by Zanedog

Maybe I should have had a different title, but the main point isn't necessarily just the best GNR song. Rather its to do like a March Madness of GNR songs. To see where the GNR community sides on different songs.

There would end up being story lines that come up with some matches: Would a CD era song beat a AFD era song? Do people like the Shadoe of Your Love B-Side enough to get it into the tourney? Which Don't Cry or You're Crazy will make it further? Etc
