Ace Nova
It's a Netflix original series. The basic premise is that a New York Mob Boss needs to go into witness protection and he chooses to go to Lilyhammer, Norway.I just discovered it last night. Very entertaining! A lot of the dialogue is in Norwegian...with English subtitles. Any fans out there?
Black Sabbath
I might check it out. I've been pleasantly surprised with most of Netflix's original series. It does bug me that that guy kind of looks like De Niro though.
Lithium
I liked the first season, but I haven't seen the second season yet. Some of the jokes might go over your head if you're not Norwegian.
Ace Nova
It does bug me that that guy kind of looks like De Niro though. That's Steven Van Zandt. He was an original member of Bruce Springsteen's E-Street band (guitar) ....and he played an under-boss on the Sopranos. I liked the first season, but I haven't seen the second season yet. Forsaken
I've been wanting to watch it since it's been on Netflix for awhile as on original. I think I may give an episode or two a show later on.
Lithium
How true is the show to Norwegian culture? Well, a lot of it is a parody on stereotypes you'll find in our society, especially outside the major cities.

Well, a lot of it is a parody on stereotypes you'll find in our society, especially outside the major cities.I like the show a lot. What they show of Norway is beautiful. I think there was a line in the first episode - when the police were looking for them, for illegal hunting....something along the lines of, "It must have been youths from Oslo, they're always starting trouble"....must of been talking about you.... dalsh327
How has the music been on the show? Steve had helped with getting the rights to music on The Sopranos. Obscure trivia: Steve Van Zandt co-wrote this song.

Any fans out there?so this is pretty good then, eh? i was curious as to whether it would be any good or whether it would just be a Sopranos rip-off (i didn't know it took place in norway - that immediately makes it sound more appealing to me, and gives it a unique edge).i don't have netflix anymore because half of what i was watching on there, i already owned physical copies of on dvd. but they've stepped their game up. i'll maybe have to re-purchase a subscription. CheapJon
It's alright. Just watched the first season. It has its flaws but good enough for wasting some time on.

Not nearly as "serious" as a drama as the Sopranos was....much more laid back.... but funnier than the Sopranos....I would describe it as a drama/comedy.
