What is the 'best' Guns N' Roses article?

There's an article that was written around the time of the Hammerstein that I've always liked. Some dude travels to his hometown and interviews some people that he got into fights with when he was a kid. Then he travels to NY where he's suppose to interview Axl for the shows, but it never materializes. It came across as more of a psychological profile than anything. Might have been GQ, can't remember for sure though.

That sounds like a cracker... try and find it if you can. I'll take a look too.

Yeah, Chinese Whispers was great- not the condensed version that got published, but the comprehensive version that covers everything between 93 and 08.

I agree but the condensed version is pretty good as well for anyone who does not want to read the complete timeline as it hits the highlights.

Also found this article on the 5 year anniversery of ChiDem when searching for the Chinese Whispers article which is pretty interesting

best gnr interview

2001 - Classic Rock

Izzy Stradlin was the most degenerate member of the most dangerous band in the world. He took Axl to LA, then left after the singer took him to the cleaners. In his frankest interview ever, the former Guns N' Roses guitarist levels with Mick Wall :

Epic interview with Marc Canter...so epic I created a thread for it but wanted to save it in this thread........

That's a good one too. It is really long. It helps shine a lot of light on the wedge(s) that drove Axl and Slash apart...and continue to keep them apart.
