most anticipated album of 2014?

Is Frank Ocean as good as he gets hyped up to be? All I really know him as is a guy who sings rap hooks fairly well.

Nah. I mean, if you're into R&B I hear he's really solid middle of the road material.

But personally I don't really enjoy R&B outside of rap/hip hop. Straight R&B is just boring to me.

Yeah I'm pretty much the same way. I guess I'll check out Channel Orange though. I've heard nothing but good things.

Cynic - Kindly Bent To Free Us

Mastodon

Wintersun - Time II

Megadeth

Stevie Wonder - Ten Billion Hearts

Steven Wilson

Johnny Cash (Album that was shelved in the 80s is being released)

Down - EP II

Tool

Anthrax

Judas Priest

Anathema

Nas

Opeth

Bruce Dickinson (maybe?)

I'm fairly certain the new Anthrax album won't be out until 2015. Frank, Scott, and Charlie are still writing. The way I understand it, Joey hasn't even heard demos yet. Not impossible, but Anthrax aren't a band to rush anything.

A new Bruce Dickinson album is a sure bet though. I think a second British Lion album may be in the works too.

Deep Purple complete " Made in Japan" live album box set...they are finally releasing all three 1972 Japan concerts complete with a bonus DVD with 23 minutes of audience shot video from one of the shows.......there will be book, ticket and tour program reprints I believe..............Kevin Shirley, of Led Zeppelin fame, is handling the mixing........tentatively scheduled for Feb/ March release.........one of my holy grails........

next they need to do this for The Allman Bros Filmore concerts....

yeah back in 1993 for the 30th anniversary they did a 3 cd release but it still was not complete shows and the mix was dodgy as Glovers bass was way down in the mix and Ritchie's guitar was too low at times...

This will be all shows complete with the newly found bonus video and other goodies.......

hopefully Shirley does not fuck up the mix.......

I'm looking forward to:

- In Flames

- Foxy Shazam

- Cradle of Filth - Total Fucking Darkness (Vinyl release). (It's the demo they did before their first major album, remastered from a 1:1 copy as the masters are gone I think, but I'm stoked as fuck anyway. And it's the 20th anniversary of said first album, they may be doing something [other than a tour] for that).

- GnR
