saber_
For those of you who have a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system (whether it be a ohhh say acheap Logitech Z906 or something more grandiose), how does Chinese Democracy sound different compared to a stereo system? Is it a marked difference?
Powerage5
I haven't listened to it on my 5.1 system, but in theory it should sound identical - there isn't a 5.1 mix available.
saber_
Darn, I was hoping that some Dolby Pro Logic wizardry might be in play here.

parisrocks
I have a Sony STR DG 920 and it sounds awesome, actually. It takes standard stereo television broadcasts and makes them into 7.1 mixes and uses the same technology for audio CDs and for my iPod when split into Left and Right. For example, when Chinese Democracy starts, all of the ambient voices and things come out of all speakers softly, but then when Robin's guitar cuts in, it blasts out of the sub and the front 3. When the chorus hits, it's all speakers except for the 2 rear channels. It's a brand new way to listen. It surrounds you and I've felt closer to the music this way. Plus, the clarity is beautiful.
