AxlsAngel
That ice storm from 2 weeks ago was probably the worst in my lifetime, holy shit. Spending the holidays looking for a warm place to sleep every night, mixed in with last minute christmas shopping and general holiday hassles, oh what fun it was.Yes, I heard that was terrible! My dad got it pretty bad and didn't have power for 3 days, but I've heard some didn't have any power for almost 2 weeks! I'm more north of that ice storm, so we didn't get it... we got more sleet and snow than anything. I had a lot of miserable friends down there over Christmas though. We've only gotten about 1-2 inches so far (last night and today). Edited January 5, 2014 by AxlsAngel

ZoSoRose
Its pretty bad now here in Lansing, if you look out the window in is a blizzard. I ordered a pizza and its an hour and a half delivery. That's fine as long as their safe but crazy to think about considering its a 10 minute drive

Dan H.
We made a booze and cigarette run to stock up for the next two days.Did two 360 spins on accident and got stuck twice. Used a full jumbo box of cat litter for a trip five blocks away. The snow isn't horrible, but the wind is throwing it around like mad. The apartment is shaking from the wind. The sub zero temperatures haven't set in yet though. But it's nasty out. There are some good two foot drifts forming along the roads. Spending the holidays looking for a warm place to sleep every night, mixed in with last minute christmas shopping and general holiday hassles, oh what fun it was.Sounds awful! Last time we lost power here was during Hurricane Sandy, which was right before Halloween last year, so the weather was a little chilly but not the kind of cold you guys had to deal with. Losing power sucks anytime, but during the holidays must have made it so much worse.

Yeah, the worst part about losing your power in the winter up here is no HEAT (unless you have a fireplace or wood stove). I sure hope nobody loses it now because the next two days are supposed to be horribly COLD! :/We made a booze and cigarette run to stock up for the next two days.Did two 360 spins on accident and got stuck twice. Wow, you guys are getting hit hard... it's not quite that bad here, but it is windy and they're calling for 2-4 more inches overnight (probably have about 6-7 inches right now). mrandyk
I deliver pizza. Wind chill is at -40 and dropping, and still can't count on people to tip. Fuck those people. Do you not appreciate this service? I'm pissed off enough that so many people order just because of the weather, at least tip after stagger through your unshoveled sidewalk in -40 temperatures. The company pays me as little as they legally can to do this, throw me a damn bone.Looking like the wind chill is going to drop to nearly -60 tonight, that's a new record for me. Thank God I was able to get off work for the night already.

This kind of cold will make the snot in your nose freeze as soon as you walk out the door. The last time I can remember temps being this low in Michigan was '94 or '95... we were getting -22 F with wind chills of -40 to -60. Everybody's vehicles were saying "fuck this shit." We had a newer car at that time (3 years old) and it didn't want to start right away. I remember going out to heat it up and it would turn over and groan for a minute before it would start and even after it started it didn't sound too good. I remember people's cars not starting left and right. It was crazy cold!http://www.businessinsider.com/arctic-temperatures-pictures-2014-1Who doesn't like some nice fresh Arctic air once in a while? Just don't breathe in too deep so you don't crystallize your lungs. This is one of my friend's yard (Flint area)... he had about 2 ft of snow 2 hours ago, probably more now! Ace Nova
Going down to 29 degrees in Central Florida tonight. Although it's not nearly as bad as the rest of the country, it rarely ever gets this cold down here. The Orange, Citrus and Palm trees are gonna be hurtin'! Back into the upper 70's by the end of the week though.
