Began watching a show called P-Valley. Suggested by my supervisor, cause she knows I'm way into black woman. It's damn near porno ya'll LOL. It has a very good storyline and is just debaucherous from beginning to end. I mean I had to pause it before the end of episode 2 to get "the poison out my system" LOL. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Dynasty

Can't believe the CW cancelled this show. It's so damn cool and the characters are so fun to watch.

well the first 2 episodes are like THAT but further along the nudity got tamer in comparison. It's very enthralling. The main storyline is about these crooked land developers who want to build a high stakes casino and shut The Pynk (the strip club who is in financial trouble) down by any means necessary. Lot of subplots as well but they all tie into the main. Lotta backstabbing drama and hustling in the dirty south. Great hip hop soundtrack throughout and just FINE looking black women, which is my flavor exclusively.

Just saw EP1 Black Bird, so good, haven't been this excited about TV show since Fincher's FBI profiling one.

Mindhunter was on another level imo, but holy fuck Black Bird ep 3 was good. Paul Walter Hauser as Larry is excellent. Ray Liotta went out on a high note as well.

"Evil Lives here" This bastard who knew he had HIV slept with multiple women and gave them HIV and never told them. One woman who he was with, even though he was married, almost died and until the doctors told her she had HIV he never said a word. She got together with a special police task force and he is in jail for 30 years. What a prick!  He knew for years he had HIV and never took any meds or told anyone about it. I'm shocked his health never failed.  The last woman also had his baby, and luckily she was on her meds by then and the baby was healthy. Never to see his bastard of a dad.

These stories are all true and I still can't believe what some people do to others who they say they love. Just Terrible.

Totally agree. I stopped watching BB until it was all released as I couldn't stand the waiting each week. Finishing last 2 ep off tonight.

Any other recommendations in the league of MH & BB?

I'm picky so not really. True Detective season 1 which you probably already watched, Hannibal was good but not at the same level. There are some british shows like Broadchurch that seems pretty good but I haven't been able to connect with it.

Maybe I'm just ignorant about this tv genre, but it seems like there aren't many truly great, modern shows in this style and to me it seems like a fairly recent thing where its gotten to this high level but I'm probably wrong so if anyone could recommend me shows like this, I would appreciate it cause I haven't found any as of yet.

too bad about Mindhunter being only 2 seasons. Too much work and not enough rating is what the reason was I think.

I loved TD1 and Broadchurch. I would agree that truly great shows of this genre are few and far between. Try Homeland if you haven't already, definitely worth the watch.  Is Dexter any good? It seemed to be very popular.

tried Homeland but to me it kinda felt like a mess after a few seasons. Almost like a soap opera, so not for me. Dexter had a promising idea but the acting was pretty bad imo and it gotten worse and worse for me so I gave up.

Really? I agree that the later seasons couldn't compete with the first two or three, but that's because it was impossible to top the quality of those first seasons. But even later seasons where very well and intelligently written with fantastic acting from great actors, and nothing soap opera about it in my opinion. But there you go, to each their own, I guess.

please let me clarify: I really enjoyed the first few seasons, but as it went on, it was too cluttered for my taste. Really good acting, and casting, just lost interest I guess. I think I'll probably give it another shot in the future, maybe I've missed some cool shit.

Yeah, I don't remember every season too well, it's been a while, but I do remember in later seasons that it took several episodes before it started to make sense and became good again. I didn't have that with the first few seasons obviously, but all in all I still enjoyed it till the last season. Unlike Dexter, which I watched all the way through because I just wanted to finish it, but I was happy it was finally over.

you know, what I like about my favorite tv shows is the consistency from start to finish. Like Better Call Saul for example, The Wire, The Sopranos, Mad Men... the usual suspects I guess. It seems like such a difficult task when it comes to tv shows for creators to do that but it's the number one quality I look for in tv shows since it takes up so much of your time to watch all of it. Having said that, something like Game Of Thrones is still brilliant in places even if they shat the bed imho in the last couple of seasons, especially season 8.

in conclusion, I think Claire Danes is still hot.

It's hard for most series that run for longer than 4 or 5 seasons to keep the same consistency, that's true.
With Homeland it was impossible when the Brody storyline finished to stay at the same level as those first two seasons, because it seemed impossible to top that quality. But in my opinion the later seasons were still better than many other series.
The thing about Homeland is also that it doesn't follow the same storyline from first till last episode like many other series and that makes it hard to keep the same consistency. Recurring characters like Saul and Carrie and the storylines about their private lives remained the same, but they always introduced many new characters and storylines. That's why it took place in different continents throughout its run.

If you think Claire Danes is hot you should check her out in this 90's music video... (I'm always looking for an excuse to post a Soul Asylum song...)

damn it, tall one. Now I'm going to watch Homeland starting from season 1 and think about Claire Danes's nose for the rest of the day.

Password. The show has been updated by Jimmy Fallon and it was very good. It started last night. Keke Palmer is the host. I think she's so cute. Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm were the guests. They were actually very good. Won the two contestants the $25,000.

I love the old Password and Super Password, with Allen Ludden and Bert Convy respectively. Along with Match Game and Family Feud, classic stuff. I'll have to check this out.
