Tater Totts
He's had some great roles in his career, think in recent years he had settled down and gone for the more comfortables ones.

Redhead74
He was brilliant along with Edward Furlong in American History X. He is a really talented actor and because he doesn't seek out the limelight he has been considerable underrated. Has he won an Oscar yet? If not, it would be a travesty if he wasn't acknowledged soon.

wasted
Fight Club, American History X, The 11th Hour, Rounders, The Score, even liked his Hulk movie, was he in The Prestige? The Illusionist then I think. To me he seems like a chracter actor more than a leading man. No, main roles were played by Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman.

He did win the Golden Globe for Primal Fear. I agree that he is not a "movie star" in the traditional sense and is definitely underrated. wasted
Hes meant to be a bit of an actor/writer director. Like every movie he rewrites the script. Like dennis hopper he just takes over. But good results. 11th hour is timeless.

Everyone should watch 25th Hour. It has outstanding performances from Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Barry Pepper, Rosario Dawson and Anna Paquin. That movie is in my top ten of all time. wasted
11th hour is timeless. I didn't think he was in this, was he? I think its called the 25th hour. The one where hes going prison. Is that Spike Lee Joint? or did he direct it himself.
wasted
People vs Larry Flynt too and recently Stone was all about him. I enjoyed The Score although its not that exciting.

Estranged Reality
He's okay, nothing special.Strongly disagree. He was understandably held in many regards as 'the next De Niro' early on in his career as a rising method actor (which was why the big team up of him, De Niro and Brando in The Score was so exciting and promising), but he somewhat ruined his career with his diva behavior. He burned a whole lot of bridges, one of the biggest examples being his nonstop temper tantrum on the set of The Italian Job remake, which is part of the reason his career took a noticeable nosedive after that film. The Incredible Hulk was probably his final straw -- he made slight changes to the screenplay (mainly dialogue) and then tried to claim sole credit for the entire script. He wasn't given sole credit so then he sulked and refused to do promotional materials for the movie (that's why he didn't do any interviews for it before release). That's part of the reason the movie didn't do better at the box office and a big part of the reason why Marvel refused to re-hire him for The Avengers and re-cast the role.
