Lies2.......The GnR EP to tide us over until CD2 comes out

Recommended Posts

i want to hear soul monster and atlas

sailing for sure, Axl owns that song

& don't let it bring you down

Maddy with that long intro.

IRS

Catcher

Scraped with the frank drum intro.

Quelle long intro for Maddy?

Ahh, right. Sorry, I thought I might have missed an extended intro once the actual French horns kicked in. That Forum one is lush, though. Lol@ DJ goofing off on Frank's kit whilst Richard and Ron take care of some real business and improvise.

Do you think anything ever came of the acoustic tune they play before Patience?

Axl mentioned they should make a song out of it back in '07 when it was first played.

i haven't heard this. Youtube clip?

The Truth EP

The official sequel to Lies, available as a 'visual album' (like Beyonce's one, every song when downloaded from itunes or whatever has a video accompaniment) and as a CD too. This is the stop-gap before the big next album. In my mythical world, this should have been released in correlation with this year's residency.

1. Riff Raff or Rosie live (Rosie live from the Forum 2011 is a damn good one)

2. The Seeker live

3. Don't Let It Bring You Down with Neil Young live (with some nice studio enhancement to make Axl's vocals good).

4. You're Crazy live (the Philly one maybe, this song wasn't on live era so would be cool as it was on Lies)

All these first 4 tracks have pro shot live vids for the visual album

5. Down By The Ocean with Izzy - with some kind of nostalgic cool vid to go with it (old pics of izzy and axl, recent shots and concert vids of them)

6. Better Acoustic - vid is just a cool black and white of just Axl and Bumble in a room doing the song

7. Going Down - vid of offstage tour footage maybe, I dunno.

8. The General (or whatever equally awesome unheard song that will blow minds along with equally cool vid to go with it)

That's enough dreaming for now. But fuck, how cool would this be if it came out/had come out with some decent promotion (available to purchase in las vegas then worldwide on itunes etc). Fuck I fantasize way too much about how I would be a better manager of this band...

Just curious, about this Light My Fire, it keeps popping up, but I've never actually heard it. Is there a vid ?

No I'm just going by a claim that MSL made

It's always made me feel uncomfortable to watch people discuss and clamor over songs we don't know for sure there's any plans to do anything with, or even truly exist.

Talkin to me, bud? I'm honestly not sure if GN'R truly do have a cover of Light My Fire somewhere in the vaults or not, but hypothetically speaking they could do a cover of it at any point if they haven't already. I honestly think Axl would sound great singing that tune
