Bumblefeet
I have a friend who started early on with this, "mining" his bitcoins, and so far he's made like 2000 $ profit. Of course at the time we were all laughing at him for wasting his time on it.
Thin White Duke
You could become dirty rich easily out of nothing. Now you can go dirty poor as easily.
Ace Nova
Bitcoin was introduced as a "rebel" currency. Their biggest thing was that it was decentralized so that no one could abuse it and control it. Now that it's centralized, it's no different than any other currency except extremely more risky, since it is not controlled or backed by any government. Orsys
Bitcoins is the cash, as I understand it. Just as you don't hold dollars in your hand much these days, you use debit and credit cards, you would not hold bitcoins either. It doesn't surprise me that ecash exists and it doesn't surprise me that it will ultimately be controlled like other currencies. Ace Nova
Yes, there are Bitcoin exchanges, where they can be bought and sold. Extremely volatile, they make the NYSE look like a blue chip, long term, CD.
