Gordon Comstock
Angel Down came out on November 20, 2007. It is the first release to feature new Axl Rose vocals since 1999, he guests on Back in the Saddle, Stuck Inside and Love Is a Bitchslap. He also had a writing credit on Stuck Inside.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5on1iEdLL4gBack in the Saddle: 6:54Love Is a Bitchslap: 11:12Stuck Inside: 18:29(the tracklisting on the video is fucked up)Imagine the best vocals from Axl at his 2006 peak, that's what he sounds like on Back in the Saddle. The deep vocals on Love is a Bitchslap remind me of TWAT, he adds a great texture to an otherwise standard rocker. Stuck Inside, holy shit... those are among his best vocal moments on record. I get goosebumps listening to that song.I couldn't wait to get that album. It's a good record even without the Axl songs, but the Axl songs are great. The weird thing is, he recorded them in an evening, and they're arguably better than most or all the vocals on his own record that came out a year later. So what are peoples opinions on this album? On Axl's guest vocals?
bacardimayne
The album is so much better than it has any business being. I consider it the best 80s rock album that isn't AFD or Skid Row's debut.

Yesterdays-Civil-War
I find it to be one of the best lead singer leaves band for solo career records ever. It's Bach's greatest record, and it contains some of Axl's greatest vocals.10/10
John Bonham
Axl's vocals sound GREAT on the record, and 'Stuck Inside' is just plain awesome. Axl sounds really good in the studio, and hearing these new vocals in 2007 made me feeel very, very optimistic about the State of GN'R 2007. Crash Diet
Axl sounds fucking glorious on 'Stuck Inside'.This otherwise this is a very mediocre album Like Sebastian Bach's music in general (inc. most of his Skid Row days) Edited June 16, 2014 by Crash Diet

MrSoftie
New theory.. Axls vocals on CD2 sound like that therefore won't be released until he feels confident singing them and doing them justice. Shit.Sounds like UYI vocals only.. Dare I say.. Better?
ManetsBR
Great fuckin' album. One of my favorite metal albums.
HuskerTornado
It is an excellent album. 2006-08 was a fun time to be around, starting with that appearance on the Eddie Trunk Show where he texted and called Baz and ended up joining them in-studio. I still listen to that every once in a while. From there, they had the Hammerstein Ballroom shows, he guested on Angel Down, then we finally saw Chinese Democracy a year after that. I wonder if the album gets released without Baz getting Axl on Angel Down first...
