Talks under way to make Reckless Road into a movie. Marc Canter confirms it will not be a documentary.

Marc, don't you think it would be easier to find unknown actors who have the right look and attitude to play the Guns guys? Most A-list actors would be too old to play them, except for maybe a few.

There can still be A list actors that don't play the band members. There are lots of people in the cast that are a big part of the story

There is a script and there is a director

Marc,

I'm not taking sides here, but don't you think this movie deal will forever sever any chance of reconciliation with Axl? If he was upset about the book how do you think he will react to a movie? Do you anticipate any legal wrangling between you, the filmmakers, and the GNR camp.

The people making the film are going to have to get the rights to do it. So far all they did was option reckless road from me. They know its a great book and know it can be made into a great movie. I'm not the one who is making the movie. So far they have the name reckless road along with my story that goes with it. There are many more steps they are going to have to do to make it into a movie. They will have to work with the lawyers on getting past the next steps. They do want to work with the band on this.

Slash is aware that my book has been optioned for a movie and wormed me about all the challenges that come along with it. His thoughts were it could turn into a big mess

Sounds like sage advice.

I hope this works out for the best. Knowing the band's history with litigious matters though, I could see this getting bogged down in "negotiations" until the option expires.

The goal is not to make axl's blood boil. The Axl I knew would be proud of this project. What kind of friend would I be if I just gave up on him and his accopmlishments.I put together a cool project and some cool people know that and would like to see it become a movie. I support that. Lets hope that they can get it all worked out.

Yes, I understand where you coming from, Marc. Completely.

I think we all would like to be proved wrong and see Axl green-lighting this project. It would show that he has found some sort of peace in his heart, which is always good -- for him. That said, the Axl Rose who stopped talking to you because you "supported" Slash, would definitely sue everyone and try everything possible to stop this. Again, I would personally like to be proved wrong.

Have you thought about adding The Beta and Fernando to the film's production team? They would assure an honest portrayal of Axl and Slash, as well as assuring the movie would be done in a timely fashion.

Im sorry but i think they know shite. They weren't around when Axl was poor and unknown and I don't think they know Slash well either. Those ppl came after 1993, when the shit had already hit the fan.

I'd rather have a movie about the Chinese Democracy sessions. It would be a hilarious comedy, Marc. I know I would see the movie 7 times in a row just for Axl running over some CDs send to him by the label with his car or a glorious HD recreation of Buckethead in his studiobuild chicken coop smelling some dogshit and jacking off to hardcore porn (rumor has it both event truely happened). It would be hysterical!

It sounds like Axl hasn't let go of the idea that Guns N Roses is still evolving into something with the new band.

I think his lack of perception will be the reason this project makes him mad. In his mind this movie is being made about a band that is still active just with a different lineup.

Then there's the private life of Axl that he likes to keep. I think he's found a new level of privacy since CD released. This movie will bring back demand for interviews, and overall unwanted attention.

In other words Axl will see everything negative about this project to make a movie and not even entertain the positive aspects.

Hey Marc, dont know if anyone has asked this yet but will someone play you in the movie? I mean you are obviously one of the very, very few in the intimate circle from the beginning and supported the band both financially and many other ways. It would stand to reason that you would be very important part of the story?

Thanks for answering our questions about this. It will be very exciting if it comes to fruition.
