Because they went and paraded a side project that he felt was nothing more than a side project as the next big thing? Maybe he made it clear to them he didn't view it as anything important, and Bumble, whose only claim to fame is being in GN'R, capitalized on a brief one-off with Weiland and pushed it as a 'supergroup' both to gain attention to himself (it's not the first time he's done things to get attention) and to force Weiland to commit to it?

I'll never understand why people automatically, by default, side against Weiland. Even a broken clock is right at least twice a day. Is it because Slash said bad things about Weiland in the papers and his book too? I have a feeling if Slash and Weiland were still on good terms, everyone saying what a dick Weiland is for distancing himself from this project, would be on his side.

Those shots of him (Weiland) and the band and the video clips Scott alluded to indicate a different story as far as I'm concerned.

Obviously it's gone south since then, but it sure looks like he was pretty involved.

Can you really believe anything that comes out of Weiland's junkie mouth anyway?

No, Slash told me not to, so I can't.

Bumblefoot's response: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/scott-weiland-does-not-seem-happy-to-be-in-a-new-supergroup-20150122#ixzz3Pab9fqri

Scott recorded a full album, did videos and did photo shoots with the group and they are not claiming he's going on tour with them...it seems kind of ridiculous to be an asshole now and claim it was just something he dabbled in when he had nothing better to do.

Thal went on to take a diplomatic approach to Weiland's contention that he would not be performing with the group on any live dates, noting that the group doesn't know if they'll even tour. "The five of us made an album together. Scott is currently the singer of the band. It's in writing; no confusion," added Thal. "But yes, Scott's solo album and tour are his priority and we're all on the same page about getting another vocalist if Art of Anarchy hits the road. But we don't need to cross that bridge just yet. Taking everything as it comes, one step at a time, letting it evolve organically. Where it goes from here (and with who!) is yet to be seen."

Weiland will more than likely fall back on this Art of Anarchy stuff when his current band members desert him and neither STP or Velvet Revolver will have him back.

so they ticked him into the band photo? Please....

Did they have to? He is part of the album and that's most probably a pic for the booklet. Why shouldn't he be on it?

I've never understood what people see or hear in this dipshit.

edit: and that was years before he had anything to do with Slash or VR etc etc etc

Seconded. I know this is subjective but to me there's absolutely nothing appealing about the guy - not his singing, not his stage presence and certainly not his bad attitude. And seeing as how he seems to be poison to nearly every single band that works with him, I'm surprised that anyone would have invited him to be a part of this project anyway. Especially Bumble - I mean, if he was looking for a band experience with minimal drama and disruption, even as a side project, he wasn't going to find it with Scott.

I'm pretty much indifferent when it comes to Scott but I can kind of understand where he's coming from here. I mean let's be honest he's the only real "name" in this band and the AofA press release was clearly using that to market themselves. If it was only a small side project as he claims then he probably didn't want it getting confused with his upcoming record and tour with his real band.
