It seems like the RAF are intercepting a lot of Russian fighter planes en route to the North Atlantic down the English Channel...

It's about Ukraine but... Is that even legal?

They do this all the time. St Andrews is close to the Leuchars RAF base and every year they have to scramble jets when the Russians pop over for a jolly.

They've been doing the same thing off of the US coasts of Alaska, California and the Gulf of Mexico. For some reason they also thought it would be diplomatic to send a warship loaded with spy equipment over to Cuba recently, when the US was having negotiations with Cuba.

It's international airspace and they've been doing it since the Cold War.

But it's nice to put it back in the headlines now that Putin is everyone's favourite bogeyman.
