Favorite Floyd album?

Relics, even though it's a compilation, is one of my favorites. I agree with whoever said Dark Side is their best but WYWH is my favorite. Of the 'big 4' I'd go DSOTM > WYWH > Animals > The Wall. The Wall is great for what it is, but it's too long and drawn out to sit through most of the time. The last 1/4 is especially difficult to get through.

Relics opened me up to a LOT of the pre-Dark Side material so I've always loved it.

I think Animals might actually be my fave. The solo at the end of Pigs is blinding.

The solo work in Dogs is fucking stellar as well.

You know, I really ought to get into the Syd era more.

The classic run of DSOTM- The Wall is their best and the most iconic run, of course. But I also really love Atom Heart Mother, Meddle, The Final Cut, A Momentary Lapse of Reason, The Division Bell, and The Endless River. For some reason I never dove into Syd's era a ton

I'm weird with Syd. I don't like any song on their first album, but I love all the songs they did prior to that like the ones on Relics.

Then I like his solo albums a lot, so for some reason I just don't like that one album.

The Wall will always be my favorite.

Though honestly I've only listened to Wish You Were Here and Animals once each. Dark Side of the Moon is alright. Guess I'm not a big Floyd fan.

pink floyd has officially broken up two days ago : http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/08/pink-floyd-breaks-up/

"The band has run its course, we are done."

I thought they broke up in the 80s, honestly. I didn't know they went on without Roger Waters.

I find myself listening to Animals the most, three epics and a soothing intro/outro... I also really dig the demo versions they played on preceding tours, I wish more guys had the balls to do that these days. Imagine hearing a song in progress across a tour, incredible! The composition of Dogs, Sheep and Pigs... there aren't words, stunning and sublime, pretty grim but beautiful stuff comes from exploring the cold hard truth of things.
