Facekicker
One of the most influential tv shows of all time. Way ahead of its time. It's legacy is huge.As an 80's kid I was obviously aware of the show but can't remember it at all. The movie wasn't really anything like the series. Undeserving of the name.So the other night I decided to watch the series from scratch. Man. I was really impressed. Michael Mann's style is as fresh as ever, it must have really stood out back then. The pilot episode must be up there with the greatest starts to any series ever. Beautifully shot from start to finish and the way the music is worked into the show is amazing. Remember MTV was just getting HUGE when this first aired. Indeed the whole initial concept of the show came from a memo that simply said - "MTV COPS"GTA: Vice City practically took its entire design from Miami Vice,This scene from the pilot is still regarding as one of TV's greatest moments. Val22
Loved this show! Loved the songs they would play during the show. I think MV was one of the first shows to have songs playing during the show.I used to love Don Johnson. I think the show was one of it's kind.It always had plenty of action and nice locations around Miami. Love Elvis, Crocket's pet gator.
