gunsfanoldie Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 So this project is like 3 years in the making at this point. Probably past the point that it would have actually mattered but I feel it would be a really cool thing. Basically I think Apocalyptic Live is a great record but I heard it so much that I actually got tired of the studio versions. I liked the way the band played it live better.Jumping off of that idea, once we got the third PPV of the tour, I realized they played most of the album live in pro-shot quality. That tour we got the opening Irving Plaza album release show, the Sydney moshpit show, and the tour ender in Vegas. I haven't looked it up recently, but I believe between those three shows there were only like two songs that weren't played live in pro-shot quality (I think they were Shots Fired and Carolina but I could be wrong). So I thought I should combine all those pro-shots into a live version of the album. The whole record, in its original order, made up of the live pro-shots.Here's where the help comes into play. I was never able to get downloads of the Sydney and Vegas shows. Basically I have a program on my computer that I've used in the past just to make my own live compilation albums (I did it with a variety of Slash instant lives he put out) and its not anything high quality but its just a nice little thing I know is easy to do. The thing is it can only do MP3 or MP4 video files. So I was wondering if anyone had those PPV's in an MP4 video format so I could plug it and then rip that audio. Or if you just had the pro-audio already which saves me a step. I just ripped the audio from the Irving Plaza show the other day so now I'm just looking for the other two.I basically thought this would be a fun little project for me, and could come out sounding good and different than the studio album we've heard for a long time at this point. I don't think any of us are denying they sound better live. So if anyone had those files and wanted to help me out with this I would GREATLY appreciate it. Also, if someone thinks they have a better quality version of Irving Plaza thats definitely possible. I just have a video rip of whatever it was streamed off of way back when it happened. So an upgrade may sound better.LASTLY, there were 4 songs, I believe, that aren't on pro-shots of those 3 shows. Hard & Fast, Far And Away, Shots Fired, and Carolina. If anyone knows of pro-shots of any of those songs that would be great, but more importantly if anyone knows of a great Youtube video of them that would work as a substitute for this compilation. Maybe a video with really good levels and not too much crowd noise or distortion. Its a tall order, but there are some really good Youtubes these days so you never know. Or maybe there have been Instant Lives since that would yield soundboard like quality recordings?Anyway, I figured this was worth a shot. Its a tall order for something that isn't altogether worth it, but at one time in the last 3 years I thought it sounded like a fun project. Maybe someone's already done it, and if so I'd love to know where. I'd also gladly share my compilation with anyone that was interested when I get done. I know I've asked this in the past on this forum, but the Slash community is bigger and different with the forum changes so I figured asking again might yield some different results. Would love any help if people want to. Thanks in advance! Quote
OmarBradley Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Way too much detail lol, summary:- you need DL's for the Vegas and Sydney shows, preferably in mp4- you need pro-shot or good quality YouTube of Hard & Fast, Far & Away, Shots Fired, and Carolina Quote
Slash2baz Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 For me, the best pro shot of this tour is probably Buenos Aires 2012 ! Quote
gunsfanoldie Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 For me, the best pro shot of this tour is probably Buenos Aires 2012 !Didn't even know that was a show! Although now that I'm looking at the setlist, the word Vorterix sounds familiar. Guess I'll have to seek that one out or see if anyone has it!In regards to those shows though, god they were great setlists. 8 spots of rotators/difference between two back to back night shows! Now I wish they were both broadcast cause they both have gems the other doesn't! Thanks for point this out.http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/slash-feat-myles-kennedy-and-the-conspirators/2012/teatro-vorterix-buenos-aires-argentina-3daed47.htmlhttp://www.setlist.fm/setlist/slash-feat-myles-kennedy-and-the-conspirators/2012/estadio-cubierto-malvinas-argentinas-buenos-aires-argentina-6bdaf68a.html Quote
