Popular Post Słash Posted July 31, 2015 Popular Post Share Posted July 31, 2015 (edited) I am hearing the interview now, ill keep on updating this whatever I hear about GNR.Till now they are talking about his other bands, he was asked why he isn't on the New Dead Daises Album, he said the Dead Daises thing was something which happened very quick, their drummer was sick, so he filled up cause he got a call from the drummer or Richard, then later on he had some shows in Germany so thats why he wasn't on the new album.He is also playing some shows with Tommy and even recording for his solo albumHe tells how he joined GNR, which I guess everyone knows now that he was friends with Richard and Tommy also became friends with him, but he mentioned an interesting thing, he said that they wanted someone who they could be comfortable playing with, most prob he is referring to Ron cause I assume no one was comfortable that he was in the band.He was asked that when he knew that he had to go in the studio to record cause there were many members before who recorded stuff, so frank said when he joined the band, he thought he would be only temporarily, but Brain sat down with him and told him that play the CD parts as your parts and add your feel too it, he said the songs from Appetite and illusions are classics and he cant change that, he said YCMB is the most fun song to play and Matt did an amazing job.He said he could change the parts in the new stuff because none of the fans had heard it and he could be more free and open making changes to the new parts, so he took brains advice and he changed a little a couple of things which could give a little shift to the song and Axl really liked what he did and Axl called him and told him that he liked the changes on Chinese Democracy and Better and told him to record it.He says when he went to the studio, all the songs were already recorded and done, the only song he played from start to finish is Chinese democracy, other songs he only recorded some bits and Axl was very supportive and welcomed him like a family and it made him feel comfortable and open to play on CD parts.He is asked when the songs were already recorded and done then why there was need to add parts or re record them, Frank says that Axl just wasn't ready to put it out, it is Axl's baby and he wanted it to be perfect and Axl is the last living rockstar in the history of music and they are becoming rare and Axl puts a lot of pressure on himself and he wants everything to be right.He says CD is an amazing album and he loved playing on it, he says it wasn't received well because fans don't like Changes.he is asked Is there going to be a new Guns Album? he says the best way to answer that is Guns has a future, Guns has definitely has a lot of moving parts, there is a lot of things in the works and once we are ready to announce something then the whole world would know it. But everything is moving forward.Mitch lafon said that after the last show in Vegas, all the members scattered and went their different ways and there have been news that the band disbanded and he asks frank that is he still a member of Guns, So frank said that is not accurate and he is still a member and he and Axl text all the time and Guns still exist and at this moment everyone is still the same and we are moving forward.Mitch says that 2017 will be the 30th Anniversary of Appetite, so will there be a reunion tour and what are his thoughts about that or if he has heard any grumblings about if there is going to be some kind of a reunion tour. Frank says he hasn't heard anything like that and as far as he is concerned there is nothing in the works like that. He said that they are working on the next chapter of Guns N' Roses, he says if something like that happens then he wouldn't be a part of it anyways and no one will tell him about it at this point.He is asked when is his next show in Guns N' Roses, he says as of right now we don't have anything in the book, but he is hearing rumors that there might be a tour at the end of this year or beginning of next year.He is asked how he wants the next Guns album to sound like, so Frank says that Guns will always evolve and will always go forward, its gonna be very different cause the song writing Richard and DJ has done and he himself is a different type of a drummer than Matt or Steven. Its gonna be more Chinese Democracyish than to the older stuff. The constant thing will be Axl's voice which we will hear.He is asked Axl and the band has always started the show late and was it hard on Frank to play so many songs for so long, Frank says when he joined the band to fill in for Brain, he was very excited and he has become a much better drummer since then, he said at first it was very difficult but now he has learnt how to pace himself at shows and he can catch his breath when there are some guitar solos or when bumble plays Don't Cry. I still would like some clarification out of either Axl or the bands management as to what the future of this band entails. I guess that isn't going to happen though.
