Torb
Hello everybody! Italian gunner here, first time I'm writing on this board Am I the only one who's thinking about Tommy? I mean...Axl wants to reunite with his old fellas, I get it, but has he really turned his back on Tommy so easily? The guy's been in the band for 17 freakin' years and he's always been considered Axl's right hand. I'd feel a little bit offended being put aside for a former member comeback.

He himself said he will be there when THEY (TB) give him a call. So basically he is a hired hand. This din't happen in the old band. All the band members decided mutually what to do.
Popular Post Bono
Tommy doesn't give a shit and had a gravy gig the last 17 years. he's always said he'd step aside if they reunited. he doesn't care. Don't feel bad for Tommy. He's had it pretty damn good.
supercool
the nugnr experience has run its course. if nugnr had been more successful, he could feel offended if he had been replaced by somebody else. i don't think he's offended, he knows the meaning of a reunion. Yeah, but I believe that a minimum of humanity towards a 18-years-friend should be given. Or maybe is just me If I were in Axl I would've call only Slash back. I hope this "reunion" won't be a pure nostalgia act. The band should have continued on its path imho.

supercool
moreover, duff is a much better bass player, his lines on the gnr albums are so good, so distinctive. i can't say the same about stinson.

I think Stinson is far more professional as a musician, instead. Duff has improved a lot in the last 20 years...his bass lines on the Walking Papers' stuff are amazing! Stress Fracture
Tommy prioritised his old band over NuGNR in 2014. Now Axl is doing the same.
ozzy37
He has been very important for GNR for the last 17 years. No rehearsals or Fortus without Stinson. I enjoy his stage persona, and he seems like a very cool, downtoearth person.Basically my second favorite member.Whatever your opinion of him may be, yes, its very unfair if he is out. Im wondering what the heck is going to happen now. Does this mean they will make Tommy the third guitarist? Tommy on bass, Duff as 3rd guitarist
AlterL
Well, personally I love Tommy Stinson's music way more than I love Duff's songs, Village Gorilla Head is still one of my favorite albums from the 00's and he's one hell of a player, but he did choose the replacements over GN'R in 2014. Can't blame Axl for moving on considering how loyal Axl was all those years where he could just go back to Duff at any given time and he didn't precisely to keep his good friend around. So all in all, I think there are not hard fellings there. Hell I would be surprised if Axl never called him again in a friendly manner or brought him back if this thing with Duff doesn't work out. xBrownstonex
Couldnt care less about that bloke. Always found him rather boring. No stage presence

Cosmo
I really hope Tommy's gone for good. He's a really suboar bassist with weak stage presence, horribls backing vocals and a terrible attitude. Definitely my least favorite member in NuGnR after Ashba.
Popular Post Len Cnut
Love him to death. His work with The Replacements to me is the most valuable, and i do mean valuable, high quality, serious pedigree, he's unique in the GnR sphere in that he isn't defined by GnR and his work and his name is not...how can i put this, he doesn't need GnR if you get my meaning, to be known, to have his own level of reknown. Really he was a legend in certain circles before GnR and he still is now he is, or appears to be, out of GnR. That Mats debut I'll put up against any rock album in the fuckin' world, Hootenanny and Let it Be are also like...i mean Let It Be is a classic of the 80s alternative scene, like a must have, it's the 80s alternative scenes top 10 best releases, i got a helluva lot of respect for Tommy and his brother Bob, God rest his soul. Bucket i suppose had his own thing too, if not quite on the scale or importance of a Mats.As far as all this in it for the money bollocks, this man dragged his arse over the 80s punk circuit for over a decade, playing the sorts of shitholes and facing the sorts of hardcore crowds that'd have an Axl or a Slash bucking for early retirement, he paid his dues and then some, there is NO FUCKING DOUBT whatsoever that Tommy Stinson is in it for the music, which is more than can be said for Axl Rose, the kind of roadwork Tommy put in in his career, the type of places he played and life he lived has proved Tommys stones is that regard, and he was in his fuckin' early teens too, like 13, what were you lot doing when you were 13, wanking off over a fuckin' Nintendo? As far as GnR he came, he played, he earned his money and shouldn't and doesn't have to answer to no one in regards to his integrity, least of all a bunch of jumped up mainstream rock GnR fans, when did integrity suddenly become yous guyses key subject, your fans of a man that does fuckin' Budweiser adverts with football players, you'd do well to remember that and check the record on Tommy Stinson before you go shooting your mouths off about his fuckin' integrity, Axl wanted a man to do a job and he got it, you want people that 'care' about the music/band well how about letting them have some kinda fuckin' say in some of it? But oh no, you can't do that with the holy GnR cuz thats all Axls, well with that attitude what the fuck do you expect? Tommy has basically stated he's not interested in returning. He's focusing on his solo career and who are we kidding, if and when the replacements reunite again, that's priority number one for tommy. I mean cmon, he said earlier this year that it "was" a good gig and if axl called him he'd "consider it". Not that I wanna read too deep into anything, but that's a guy who clear as day is divorced from guns n roses and could care less. He's moved on and so has GNR. But hey I do wish the guy luck, I wouldn't have stuck around for that long
