Sorry if this thread exists already, but I didn't find it.

What are - in your opinion, of course - Slash's 10 best solos. You can include all of his projects: GnR, Snakepit, VR, solo album and the Conspirators.

Here is my Top 10:

10. Mr. Brownstone

9. Nightrain (the one at the end)

8. Knockin' On Heaven's Door (both)

7. Anastasia (the one at the end)

6. Double Talkin' Jive

5. Paradise City (the one at the end)

4. Estranged (both)

3. Coma

2. November Rain (all three)

1. Sweet Child O' Mine

Nightrain, Easy, Brownstone, Estranged, November Rain, SCOM, Civil War, Jungle, Paradise City, Coma. All of them are great from his time in Guns imo. You can't really choose just 10 Slash solos.

It's like choosing best 10 Axl vocals. Can't be done. Perhaps 20, but still difficult. That's how good he was/is as a guitar player.

Yeah, he really fucking nails it on Give Into Me. He also did a great job on MJ's D.S. as well. I also love his lead work on Alice Cooper's Hey Stoopid too.

As for GNR, the obvious ones, November Rain, Estranged, SCOM, Nightrain, Coma, Locomotive etc. One that I love that never gets mentioned is Since I Don't Have You - the Les Paul just sings on that one.

As for his solo work, I don't really feel he's done any solos that particularly stand out compared to his GNR work. He did some good shit on the second Snakepit album, particularly on Serial Killer and Back To The Moment, and his solos on VR's Messages and You Got No Right were beautiful. But in terms of his solo albums or his stuff with Myles, it's not really amongst his best work.

Thanks. I never heard that before, but it's definitely a great solo.

I have always loved his solo in Back off Bitch. Shite song, incredible solo.

it's particularly cool from that bit at 3:14

Discussing 'Guns and Roses' with you specifically feels wrong somehow. Put some Curtis on and let's just forget this conversation ever happened, what do you say?

In no particular order

Paradise City, Slither, Serial Killer, Fields Of Joy, Street Child, Nothing To Say, Don't Damn Me, Crucify The Dead, Come On Come In, Coma.

Cool list. Fields Of Joy is killer. (thanks for introducing it to me) Slash composed some really good shit for Lenny. Street Child he captured something very special. Like... you almost wish it was a part of a Guns song it's so good. But I like it as it is. Slash is a master of capturing the mood of the song and coming up with solos that are many times the peak of the song. Like Don't Cry for example, it's just as powerful as the outro imo. Always liked Come On, Come In.

Agreed.I can totally imagine Street Child solo on a GNR song. God, what could have been happen if their ego's don't separate them?
