We've had some unlikely reunions in the last decade, like Van Halen, Black Sabbath & Soundgarden, but GNR is the one I never thought would happen. Any other bands that haven't bitten the bullet? The only two I can think of are Skid Row & Sepultura.

ABBA is now the last big one I feel; there are homosexual chaps worldwide who would convert to women, just for a chance to see Björn, Benny, Agnetha and Anni-Frid again. I would also add Buffalo Springfield and a proper Supremes reunion (with both Mary and Diana) - unless of course you include a Zeppelin or Floyd reunion that lasts longer than the two we actually obtained. People in Britain yearn for an Oasis reunion far more than a GN'R reunion and the Gallaghers haven't even been parted that long.

The Smiths will NEVER happen because Morrissey is a man of his word.

Morrissey is a liberal douche.

OMG, a 'liberal', right, I'm burning all my albums! Liberal, i ask you, that one notch down from Bosnian Death Camp soldier!

Sabbath wasn't unlikely, it was just unfortunate.

Seriously, I've seen a number of people talk about how surprising a Sabbath reunion was - what was so surprising about it? The Ozzy era only took a 6 year hiatus when Heaven & Hell was active. Not to mention, that lineup 10 years ago was the entire original Sabbath, now they're missing Bill Ward.

Talking Heads besides their one Hall Of Fame performance never did, and that was essentially a gift for the fans. In terms of holdouts, I say they are near the top of the list.

The original Alice Cooper Band never really got back together again. But yeah, it was no GNR or Smiths kind of thing.

The Kinks.

Dire fucking Straits. They ended, no one ever got them back together.

Genesis original never did besides one charity performance.

Oasis hasn't. Probably will.

Original Whitesnake band, but I think I'm the only one holding out hope for that  !

Well, it surprised me because Ozzy had sued Iommi just a year before Dio died. Also, Geezer had said it was definitely not happening.

The Ozzfest with solo Ozzy and Sabbath, plus the 4 man reunion tour, made a lot of fans happy. They could have just called it a day after the Reunion CD came out.

I am not a fan of Morrissey's music but what does the man's politics have to do with his music? I don't agree with Ted Nugent's politics but I am a big fan of early solo stuff...Do you make your decision on what music you like based on the musician's politics or the quality of his music?

Obvious to me at least if you don't count the recent one offs

Led Zeppelin

Pink Floyd

And bands I would love to see reunite which I doubt anyone here cares about

Mahavishnu Orchestra

Bebop Deluxe

John Mayall Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton

Peter Green Fleetwood Mac

Edgar Winter's White Trash although Jerry LaCroix is dead

I'd love to see the original KISS perform at least one more time together as a band before they call it quits, and they need to soon

I've always thought Morrissey was anti-politics in general.

If you believe the quotes from the Davis Brothers the Kinks might actually happen in the not too distant future...

I would like to see the original Whitesnake reunion but also would not mind seeing he Vandenburg/ Vai version of the band do a show.

Would also love to see Deep Purple Mk III with Coverdale/ Hughes do a reunion

How is Oasis a hold out, they've hardly been broken up that long!

But the public clamour for them to reunite has been huge since day one. Oasis would be far bigger than a reunited GN'R in Britain.

Oasis and The Black Crowes come to mind. They're both broken up but they've both broken up and reunited before.

Big ones would be Smiths, Dire Straits, Kinks or R.E.M.. Genesis maybe. But if they did I'd want it to be with Peter Gabriel.

CCR comes to mind, but Tom's dead anyway. So it'd just be John with the original drummer and bassplayer. The fact that I don't know their names says it all.

Also, the biggest reunions this millennium have been Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Both just once.

Are the members of ABBA even alive?

Yes, good one!

Personally I'm liking Noel solo stuff and Liam dont seem to want it no more either, it'd be nice to see a rock star take early retirement for once and not be this skin-bag full of bones rattling its way across stadium stages squeezing the last few pennies out of their greatest hits catalogue, i kinda like the fact that Liams just chucked it in and decided to enjoy his money instead.

I just dont wanna see them turn embarassing, its funny though i listened to em as a lad i never really appreciated them, they were just there and i liked em...cuz you dont when you're a kid do you? But i realise now that they really were the dogs bollocks...not only that but within that time there were was some pretty good bands, Pulp were really quite staunch for instance.

Didn't Blackmore form Rainbow because he hated the music MK III was making? Don't see him getting involved.
