Towelie Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) Think about it. I think the reason Axl has decided to reform with Slash and Duff is because he realised that the industry/label/public weren't willing to support NuGNR in the way they did the original band and he knew there was no future with the 09-14 lineup.Axl threw a hissy fit and refused to promote Chinese Democracy, supposedly out of some kind of protest to the label about their promo plans or lack thereof. Although I know this may sound a tad Axl-apologist, but I've always suspected that part of the reason behind NuGNR's lack of new music was because the label/industry weren't prepared to promote and invest in Axl's version of the band. Supposing Axl had followed up Chinese in 2011, it would've likely sold even less than its predecessor, so what incentive did the label have to support it? Knowing how much money could be made from a reunion perhaps the label have been playing hardball for the last 5 years or so and Axl finally thought "fuck it", when faced with the option of either more pointless touring with NuGNR or a reunion.I guess only time will tell whether this reformed lineup will do more than just tour the hits for the next 2-3 years and what happens in the coming years will no doubt shed light on Axl's true intentions behind this reunion. Towelie Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 No.Thankyou for your valuable contribution.
wasted Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 even after Axl mentioned CD II in Revolver there was no label interest. It's probably the only way to make money and get label support. Whether the deal includes CD II we will have to wait. Label might prefer a Best of.
Axl_morris Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 it would be such a waste if a new album wasn't recorded with 2016 lineup. 1
maxpax Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 If there will be cd2 than they re-recorded cd1 probably...Axl die the same with afd and nugnr.
alfierose Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 In some ways I think it might have been the perfect storm of a few things coming together in the right time frame.A question I've been meaning to ask - who is Slash's manager now? It was Perla afaik, fairly sure it's not now, I can't imagine Axl/TB ever negotiating with her about a re grouping.

God, what is it with rock icons blurring their personal and professional relationships so often??

Often turns out to be false economy, this goes for everyday people too not just rockstars! 2
maxpax Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 No, the main reason for the reunion is slash's son: cash.
