Dan H.
I don't think anyone takes NUS seriously, which is probably why this story isn't gaining traction. What a baffling and aggressive decision. Sure, gay white men probably suffer less discrimination than transgenders or POC gays, but is there a whole lot of evidence that gay white men are a significant source of internal trans-phobia or racism within the LGBT Community? Is this just based on anecdotal findings? I'm also not sure how American LGBT culture differs from the UK. Also, although much progress has been made to make life easier for our LGBT friends and neighbors, gay men have a much higher rate of contracting HIV/AIDs, and are much more likely to be the victims of hate crimes and violence than straight people. Hell, there are still some parts of the US where you can pretty much be indiscriminately fired from your job just for being gay, or some states that still outlaw sodomy (albeit unconstitutionally). I think those are some pretty serious concerns for gay men, even given that western society as soften it's view of homosexuality over the last few decades. Is the NUS run by the left wing of tumblr or something?

Gracii Guns
There was a modest SU presence at my uni. But at a university local to myself, the SU ratified the pro-life society, which pissed off the feminist society no end*. On some kind of exhibition event, the SU did lump the pro-life society in with the historical re-enacters and other specialist hobbies, rather than with the other societies who campaign for social justice, which annoyed the pro-lifers. * Considering a primary use of abortion in the developing world is used to eradicate girls being born, and female infanticide is visible in India, China etc. I personally felt that the feminists could learn something from the pro-lifers, but hey. Snake-Pit
Islamophobia is... A big one. It's dangerous. - Not for fear of terrorists!.. Fuck 'em! Fuck 'em.. - It's dangerous for the free world - to be thinking like that. I hope it's Donald Trump the savvy businessman winning over America's Bible Belt (because, I doubt they'd vote for Donald Trump, the casino owner)!.. I also hope that, even if the Republicans controlled Congress and Donald Trump was elected President, I hope the President is banned from paying politicians in exchange for favours and I hope that Congress do things for the American people and not for themselves and that any lobbying groups aren't rooted back to President Trump. Also... I don't think many Republican politicians actually like Donald Trump? - Apart from that one who endorsed him, that is. dontdamnmeuyi2015
The governor of Georgia vetoed a bill that would have given rights to the Lesbian, Gay and Transgender groups. Not that I expected anyone in power from Georgia would do any different. The South still is a 100 years behind in their way of thinking. Times they are a changing people go with it. Accept people for who they are and maybe the human race will have a chance to redeem itself.
