Axl's Agony Aunt Posted April 7, 2016 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Why do you think Axl gets so much hate, and little credit? He is controversial, and does and says a lot of negative things, but also does a lot of good. Nobody speaks out against child abuse as much, while other causes such as race, sexuality and gender get much more music and media attention. As Matt Sorum said in the Most Dangerous Band documentary, Axl was the one who cared the most about playing in Chile where mass executions had taken place, wanting to pull out. Axl was also the one who tried to get the band off drink and drugs and keep the band going during that Illusion tour. Yet, the general media image is overwhelmingly negative.
