Popular Post SoulMonster
Hi, This is intended as a thread for GN'R resources beyond mygnrforum. I started it to let you know about my own site, Appetite for Discussion, which contains a wealth of information that can be valuable to GN'R fans, but it is a good idea, as downzy pointed out, to let it be a more general thread about GN'R resources. Anyway, Appetite for Discussion (A4D for short, found here www.a-4-d.com) was originally intended as an alternative discussion forum when this site was struggling. It has eveolved into being a repository of information on everything GN'R, and I tinkle with it quite regularly, especially in periods when GN'R is active. The information found within is as follows: - A page for each show in GN'R's history with setlists, reviews and other information. [NB: a few shows from 2010 is missing and is currently being added). This is similar to the information found at gnrontour, but my site is more complete and allows users to add their own reviews, comment, etc, but since each gig has its own thread it is not as easy to quickly search a year for a specific gig or song (for that I often use gnrontour myself, or the database I have offline). - A page for each band member. Not much info found on these pages except quotes from other band members. - A page for each GN'R song (or cover they have played regularly). These pages contain basic information but, which is usually coolest, quotes from band members about that song. - All the interviews I could find, from 1986 to 2016. I estimate there are more than 500 interviews available now. To browse through al this wealth of information I have now created drop-down menus found at the top in the toolbar ("Databases"). This is unfortunately only available in the full version (no mobile version). So far I have only started adding the interviews, but I expect all to be included in the drop-down within a few weeks or so. Additionally, I have tooltip scripts that allows info boxes to pop up when hovering certain words (e.g. "Del James" is such a keyword and hoverign his name anywhere will result in a info box that explain who he is in relation to GN'R). This is intended to make the reading experince more newbie-friendly (we haven't all been fans since 1988). I am still working on adding to this "dictionary". This is very much a project in the works, a love project, so there will be lots of inconsistencies when it comes to layout and missing information here and there. But trust me, it is getting there So feel free to visit and browse. All the content is available to guests, so no reason to registrate unless you want to contribute to this project. I appreciate any comments and corrections. I hope you will enjoy the site. http://www.a-4-d.com/ Edited April 22, 2016 by SoulMonster

downzy
SoulMonster's site is a great resource for fans looking for the kind of information their looking for. Our focus at this site is a little different, so I'm glad SM shared his site for longstanding and new fans. Anyone else that has sites with they like to visit for GNR information are welcome to post it here.
willl
Chinese Whispers at GNR Evo is pretty popular Now is as good a time as any to read it if you haven't before as it basically documents the GNR story from 1993 right up to the release of Chinese. Cool to see a-4-d still on the go. I've never posted there as Im registered on enough sites as it is but I have checked out the info from time to time Two other resources are GNRontour.com and of course HTGTH - both are filled with history of the band and worth bookmarking. Chinese Whispers is the single greatest piece of written document about the history of GN'R. Mandatory reading for anyone with an interest in the period leading up to CD.
