The '91 (I think) Tokyo version from Live Era was great. One of those moments where someone could make the case for Dizzy Reed boosting a song.

The alt lyrics ver. never seemed to grow on me no matter how many times I listened to it, I dunno the melody just never appealed to me, though I know it's many peeps' fav.

Not silly at all. It was actually a pretty novel idea. And it actually makes sense when AXL explains how it happened and what it means to him.

I went with the 1987 version. It's magic.

When speaking of studio versions, I perfer the Alt version.

I really love the 1987 and the UYI version, both of them have that magical feeling to it

I never liked the Alt Lyrics version, it seems to be forced, its just weird for me. The lyrics are great no doubt about that, but they should have used those lyrics for another song and not put it in Don't Cry.

i bought uyi2 cassette when it came out took a couple months before i had the money to buy uyi1.  i still like the best and think of alt lyrics as the original cause of that.

Hard pressed between 1987 and UYI Original, this song always sit in my top 10 favourites. I'll think 1987 has the edge, love the rawness of it.

I like them all but my favorite is the 87 demo of the original. And I also believe it's their best ballad

I think the lyrics on the alt version are much better than on the original version. Although I do love both when it comes to lyrics.
