Popular Post dontdamnmeuyi2015 Posted July 11, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted July 11, 2022 Saved a kitten from being homeless. Checked him out at the vet. Had worms, fleas and ear mites. He got all his shots. He's a cute little guy and I named him Ollie. He's gray with green eyes. He's sweet except when he gets those crazy times. I look like a pin cushion with all the cuts from his nails. Got to get them cut. Won't declaw because it's so painful and horrible to do to a cat. I do have other cats and they hiss and mostly ignore him. lol It's been a long time since I had a kitten. It's like having a baby. Oh yeah, once I was told what declawing does to a kitten or a cat, I said no way. I do know they have a laser treatment now, but it's expensive and I'm sure the cat is still in pain. Scream of the Butterfly Posted September 4, 2022 Share Posted September 4, 2022 I've grown to dislike the whole practice of keeping pets. I think it should be abolished like slavery. The cute pictures hide the ugly truth that these animals are property at the mercy of their owners. Some pets are supposedly treated well, but even a slave that is treated well is still a slave devoid of autonomy, and it's no consolation for the many that are treated badly. My parents have worked with a dog rescue there before, so I had a dog for a week to socialize her. She's a sweetheart, and my parents ended up fostering her in Canada, so I brought my dog to meet her. She had heartworms which is a pretty serious illness, life threatening if left untreated, but this week she had her final blood test and it came back negative for heartworms All the wormy bastards have now fully left her system She had a negative test a few months ago so I was confident she'd be okay but there was always a risk that the worms may have reproduced and new ones would be growing inside her. He passed away a little over three years ago, I heard about it fifteen minutes before our band was supposed to be on stage. He was a fun dog, fat yet stupidly athletic. One of my favourite tunes of my own is about him, I like to sing it for myself and reminisce about my old pal.
