Insomnia (2002). If there's one word I could use here it's tension! Nolan really does tension well here and evil Robin Williams is a delight.

Saw this in the movie theater. Al Pacino was awesome too. It made me a little crazy with the constant sunlight. It was very suspenseful.

I watched:

From a Whisper to a Scream with Vincent Price.

Killer Sofa  lol Dumb movie but good for some laughs.

Never heard of this movie. Who was in it? I love those old movies from the 30's and 40's. Watched them with my poppy.

Clark Gable and Norma Shearer. And Lionel Barrymore (from the famous Barrymore family) received an oscar for his role in this flick.

Wow! that's cool. My mom wasn't a fan of Clark Gable, so that's probably why she never heard of it and neither have I.

She loved James Cagney. From dance man to gangster, she loved him.

Leaving Las Vegas. Thought I had seen it but I had not!  Sad movie.

Very sad, but from what I've read the book is even more so. The author, John O'Brien, was pretty much Cage's character in the movie. He was such a talented guy but his addictions were too powerful. He commited suicide not long after learning they were making the book into a movie.

I read that! How tragic. :(

Killer Klowns from Outer Space

This movie rocks! I never get tired of watching it. It's like a clown version of The Blob. Another movie that rocks to this day! The original with Steve McQueen, of course.

I've only seen parts of Killer Klowns but The Blob was awesome. I have to say that the remake was good too, imo.

Yeah, liked both Blob versions.

Killer Klowns from outer space is just a guilty pleasure movie. But it's so much like the original blob only with crazy looking clowns. lol

I went to a Frightmare convention in Dallas years ago and there were three horror fans dressed just like the 3 main clowns. It was crazy.

If you have a chance to catch the whole movie, you'll like it for sure.

Nicolas Cage wanted to do the entire film drunk and wear an earpiece with someone telling him his lines, but the director didn't allow it, although he really is drunk in the scene where he gets thrown out of the casino by security.

This film is probably the best anti-alcohol campaign out there, yet it makes me want to drink every time I watch it, but that probably says more about me...

Wow, how interesting! Yeah that seems like something Cage would want to do. Love learning little tidbits about movies, thanks for sharing.

Another interesting fact is that while preparing for this role he went to Dublin for two weeks to binge drink and he had a friend videotape him, so that later on he could study his speech while being intoxicated.

I’d say that’s pretty common with movies of this type. When I saw The Last Boyscout (Bruce W.), I felt like smoking all the time. :D And when you think about it, the movie, while being full of boozing, is not really about alcohol addiction as such – it’s about a guy’s way of burying the past and deciding to end it all. Could have chosen drugs instead. I haven’t read the book (didn’t know there was one either), but we know there was some family business before his journey to LV, and at one point he yells something like "he was my son" (don’t remember exactly).
Anyway, his best film imo (haven’t seen them all, though).
