Sosso
I don't wanna start a discussion who the best AC/DC drummer is but I wanna show the different styles from Phil Rudd, Simon Wright and Chris Slade for those who are not familar with every aspect of this band. James Bond
Not counting different fills and whatnot, I find one of the easiest characteristics to differentiate in each of their drumming is how they play the hi-hat. Phil plays his eighths very laid back, he's not playing with a shuffle feel but you can feel the swing due to the way he accents all the "on" beats. X x X x X x X x Chris plays a tighter, more focused hi-hat. Less swing, more precision. x x x x x x x x Simon kept his hi-hat the most open of the three and really bashed away at it. X X X X X X X X There, AC/DC's drummers described in x's! Phil also kept a "four on the floor" in plenty of songs (meaning he hits the bass drum on every beat - Shot Down In Flames is a great example). I never noticed that approach as much with Chris or Simon. Phil didn't do it in every song, mind you, but it occurred enough to stand out as a trait.
