Ultimate Dream Setlist

I know there's been threads like this in the past but I thought it'd be fun to make a new one.

If you could have any setlist you wanted, with length and line-ups being no issue. What would your fantasy setlist be?

For mine I've taken inspiration from different eras and combined them to create this monster. It's sort of Not in This Lifetime meets Use Your Illusion, particularly 1991 during the period of those mega long shows and deep cut heavy concerts.

Not really. Yours is completely unrealistic. You're looking at a forty songs setlist, a four hours show. It's impossible. Trust me nobody wants to hear It Tastes Good Don't It  or So Fine.

Mine is perfect if GnR were willing to introduce a new album into it, 7 songs from Appetite, 7 songs from Illusion (+2 UYI covers), 1 song from Lies, 4 Chinese Democracy songs, 3 new songs.

Yeah that was my point. It's more likely that they'll tour a 4 hour show than release new music. Sort of a joke/expression of skepticism about them releasing any new material whatsoever.

Yes!  Three new songs required!  The rest of my list would differ, and the concert would start with Jungle, but that's unimportant.  New music, please!

This setlist should definitely include all epic slash intros from the UYI, an acoustic version of dead horse with Axl on acoustic guitar, the UYI version of Kohd, One in a million and Slither. 

And since Slash is giving tribute to CD stuff. I would love to hear some Slash hits with Axl. Give into me, Always on the run, By the sword, World on fire, Watch this, Set me free.

I would like for the next leg in the US for atleast this to happen.

Duff solo spot is now for SO FINE o DUST N BONES, Or worst case scenario he plays Raw Power more which he did in the begining and then just drop it altogether.

They play Nice Boys, Used to Love Her and Think About You as staples on the set.

They shake the CD songs, I would drop This I Love as a staple and put TWAT or Sorry as staple and for the encore add Prostitute or Madagascar.

you had almost the entire discography up there! true appreciation for GNR

at this point my dream setlist would be anything with axl, izzy, slash, duff and a drummer onstage

i think i would accept anything by these guys at this point

if i could choose, i'd have this

= 8 new songs every night (taken from a 13 new songs list)

= 5 covers every night (2 taken from the Spaghetti Incident, 2 taken from a 5-8 "new" covers list, 1 "old" cover taken from all the covers played 1985-91)

= 8 classic GNR tunes from the past (taken from Appetite, GNR Lies, Use Your Illusion I and II)

= 3 deep tunes (from the list of songs rarely or never played like Dont Damn Me, etc)

= 1 "cover of the night" (they could rehearse a special song for each show, like a Thin Lizzy song for Ireland, a Leonard Cohen song for Canada, etc)

that would be my dream setlist these days

and to have steven with the four guys would make it perfect

No ballads, No bloat, no BS, no solos/extended jams. No Axl costume changes. No Axl Pose Dressing Room requirements.

No giant piano being rolled out. No catcher's vest w/ feather coat and tight bike shorts. Just Illusion era heavy punk-ier gnr stuff.
