Tucknroll
Just wondering if anyone's played the afd performance pack guitar. Kinda cheap but surely slash wouldn't put his name on a complete piece of junk. Can you get anywhere close to his sound with it?
ZoSoRose
Its not junk necessarily but not something for intermediate or pro players. The LP Special II is a typical "first electric guitar" and the Slash name brand is made to sell to people wanting to get into guitar playing
James Bond
It'd make for a decent beginner guitar but otherwise it's nothing special. Obviously for the price it doesn't have the Slash pickups so really you're just getting the Appetite Amber finish on a glorified Epiphone Special. Again, not necessary a bad thing as far as beginner packs go but don't expect the quality or sound of a higher end Epiphone.
gunsguy
Save up and buy at least a studio Gibson if you are looking for the sound. the Epiphone isn't gonna cut it, the AFD version one even worse because its cheap quality
SoundOfAGun
Is that what you want to achieve? A Slash sound? Are you a complete beginner? What is your budget?
Tucknroll
I've played for about 20 years. Mostly telecasters and one epiphone black beauty. The little afd guitar is just so cheap I thought about getting one for me and my son to play around on. He dropped my epiphone and broke the headstock! For what it's worth, you could find a used Epi Black Beauty for around the same price and have a much better guitar.
