The guy who included him is now arguing back.  I had spoke to him while I was at the gardens today about my concerns.  He found them concerning.  And now he sees what I was talking about.

Del copied me on an e-mail he sent to the new Ferguson mayor congratulating her on getting the job.  Ferguson, the place of all the riots a few years ago who just elected their first black person (female) to mayor.  Me and only me copied.  I have no idea why he did that.    No idea why he sent an e-mail.

Yeah she's up.  She closes in two weeks.  That's going to get here fast.

The sting is spreading.  Hurts to move my wrist.  Oh the joys of gardening.

Im gad you straightened them out!

Haha, well some people have their 'one black friend' but in Dels case youre his 'one white friend who's cool with black people' . I guess its thoughtful of him to send a congratulations to them. Maybe its something he always does, or maybe its a sign of some soul searching and personal growth?

Yeah, I hope she can both rest and see to the closing.

Ouch! Im sorry to hear that, Cin. I didnt think they got ya. Its because Benny was with you - flooding, swarms, plague, pothead keeps falling over...

Poor Benny.   Susan said he didn't pay any attention to her when she got home.  But today when I went over and called his name he ran right over.  It's not me, it's my female cats.

So I add in my support for the certification to the email chain.  Don't say it shouldn't have to go through the Extension but instead suggest they pay for the certification.  You want control over that, it's going to cost you.  And then out of the blue our horticultural specialist chimes in and totally supports the certification.   We'll end up paying for it but the Extension Counsel is going to know we had to pay for it.

And then Leslie returns my call.  She was at the Master Naturalist meeting tonight and Alex came.  He told them he wants them to take over the native beds with Leslie sitting right there.  He's trying to convince them to come back on campus.  Nobody knew we haven't agreed to that.  We'll they're going to when they discuss it in their steering committee.  They weren't impress with his plan and have trouble maintaining the gardens they've already committed to.

Getting way to adversarial for me.  Time for this thing to come to a head.  I have steering committee on Friday.

I have no idea what Del is up to.  Ferguson is in another county.  Why would she even care?  I can tell you I am a nobody and not even interested.

Susan has a good mood going.  Must have got some good drugs for the pain.

Oh that must make Susan feel great about Benny!

Sounds like a lot of grief. Just people making things more difficult than it needs to be. I hope you can take care of it on Friday.

Maybe Susan being drugged makes Benny not connect with her the same way?

Cats like their routine.  Could be she walked in the house with DJ, a stranger, and he did his normal thing which is stay away from the stranger.  It wasn't cuddle time.  Susan treats him like a little prince.  Anyway she ended up back in the ER.  They bruised her throat during surgery and she was worried.  They sent her home.  Not that good of drugs.

Yeah done with all this shit.  I let it blow up this morning.  We're talking to the Naturalist and they are talking to us, mutual love.  We're a united front on we want to do this together.  They replied to Alex they were interested in contributing to the gardens and they want to work with us.  Kevin put a call into Alex, clue him in that we know all about it.  The table is going out, everybody pull up a chair and lets work out the details.

I was at the garden at 7, lol.  That sting annoyed me all night.  I gave up trying to sleep at 5.  Spent a half an hour trying to figure out where I sat my gloves down yesterday.  I'd be napping right now except Marsha keeps blowing up my phone ranting over the above issue.   She don't get a chair at the table.  She wants to threaten them and get Alex fired.  But she did talk to the secretary in the office.  Alex didn't show up for work today.  But she did confirm that Alex is looking at turning the meeting room into office space and I'm sure a few other juicy tidbits.  After a long while I just check out in the conversation.

I got an email from Forest Bathing.  I think we can watch the recorded show that's only a half hour.  I'll read the email more closely later.

Beaker usually greets me, but not always like he used. Today I got a breath check when I returned home. No, hun, I didnt hunt and eat anything without sharing

Did they think Susan was just back for the drugs maybe? I hope her throat s okay.

I have a vision for a world where Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists live in perfect harmony... with zero outside oversight.

That sting was way worse the you firs thought, eh? Did you put anything on it? Marshas not wring that Alex should be fired. . See its all that make work to have "accomplishment" shit. "This room is currently ____________  , therefore I need to change it." And if it builds his power up more, all the better in his opinion. That or his fucking Mom is telling him what to do

Id love to watch the vid if possible?!? Hope you enjoy it too.

I sent you the link.  Put some anti itch on it.  It's just the wrist that is swollen up.

He takes away the meeting room, that leaves us pretty much homeless.  We do everything in that room.  If we don't have it, what's the point of us having demonstration gardens there?  Those businesses that rent the space are going to want parking and we don't have a lot as it is.  How am I going to do garden tours if people have no where to park or use the restroom?  We'll see what happens.  I have other groups I'm in and because I have been with the Master Gardeners for 10 years I don't have to do anything to be a member.

Mayer's voice does not fit with Ramble on Rose.

I hope your wrist is better soon.

Alex is a complete dick. Sounds like he wants his own fiefdom. At least we can assume that others he reports to know what an imbecile he is?

Are you listening to Dead and Co when its not Saturday and you could be listening to the Dead??? Why??? I have to admit thats another one of the songs that I sometimes hear in his voice when its in my head. But yeah, its not right on it.

Listening to the Dead radio channel.  I think they just started adding Dead and Company music.  I don't remember hearing Mayer before.

I watched Forest Bathing.  You're not going to end up naked and hugging trees.  The guy who said he thought of firewood when he looked at trees is in the wrong class.

Oh wait, she got oxycodone, an opioid.  And she got fentanyl in the hospital.  Funny because she was on the drug task force for opioids.  She can't talk to me tonight because she's "loopy".  You're former druggie friend is on it.  Told her my drug addiction alarm is going off.  Told me she only takes it at night for pain.  At night for pain is before you go to bed.  Not 7:00.  You made it all day.  She says she's a little offend I'm bring it up.  Yeah it can happen to anybody.  I reminded her the universe is out to get her.  A little paranoid will keep you alive.

I guess thats a good excuse

Looking forward to watching it. Those hippies Ive mentioned swear by forest bathing. I never asked what it was though... they tell me all sorts of things as it is... even if I dont ask

Im glad you were able to be so straight forward with Susan. Like you say, it can happen to anybody. And if one was in that field they might feel somehow smarter than it or something?

I actually had to help a herd of opioid victims cross a busy street yesterday! They were crawling along at zombie speeds and suddenly the herd just turned and started crossing a busy street. So I start directing traffic to stop. But also was having to manage all the toddlers to remember to continue to cross the road. They were all dropping the donuts they just bought and then just starring at them on the road like "how do I bend over again?" Basically it was like that arcade game Frogger but if it also involved herding puppies  They were all so pleased with me - big droopy smiles abound.  Im pretty sure that one of them used their shoulder to point towards one of the fallen road donuts, and I took that to mean "Thanks for your help, that donut is for you as a token of our gratitude."

Sounds like the real deadheads I ran into at the beer stand at concerts.   Yeah, all those folks who get addicted to alcohol and drugs did not start off with an end goal of addiction.  "Hi, I want to grow up to be an addict."

I'm trying to reimagine the MG group.  Not from trying to save what we have but as a whole new operation.  Have to say, I would not have put the gardens where they are.  How many more people could we reach if we had our pantry garden at the food bank?  If we had our perennial bed at the library?  If those organizations helped us advertise what we were doing?  Why don't we go to the public instead of hoping they find us?  So I'm dreaming a little bit.

Justin called.   The horticultural lead of our group.  Totally unloaded all of this on him about what Alex has been doing.  He's pissed but trying not to let me know.  He had a meeting to go to but is calling me back.

Yeah, these poor should basically wear their trauma on their sleeves.

Those are some great ideas about going into the community for the different beds! :headbang:

Ill look forward to hearing what Justin communicates.

Meanwhile in this colonial state... I think they might be black beans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are currently little white beans with a purple dent in them, which is surrounded by a back ring. Sounds promising to me!!

Also, this was a typo in my last post,

Ahhhhh!

I meant basically, "Its easy to see the fact that these people, whom I feel sad for, are junkies because of trauma."

And I meant to add that in agreement with what you said about no one planning to be an addict.

I got what you meant.

We had a yard tour with my natives group.  Went over to a couple's house that are converting their yard over to natives.  And then we stopped in at an outdoor classroom at the school.  The classroom was really cute.  I could see us doing programing there.  They have a butterfly cage.

Sounds lovely. Thats your natives group of MGs? I wish you had you very own outdoor classroom. But it would be great there as well!

No rain today for once.

No that's the Wildones group I belong to.  Poor Beka is the vice president of that group and one of our steering committee members and leads.  They have all kinds of problems with their leadership too.

We had our big come together meeting today.  It went well.  Lots to process.  The big news, is the creek project may start as soon as the end of September.  Did I mention my legacy tree may be in the construction zone?  Alex did admit they "were looking at" changing the big meeting room to office space and that they too were concerned about how that would affect the groups operating out of there.  Had to laugh at that point because he mentioned talking to Justin yesterday.  I don't think he had a real understanding of those concerns until Justin talked to him.  I heard many attempts to let us know we were valued.  Pretty sure Justin told him he was pissing many of us off.  While Alex said it was too early for us to change what we were doing, it's pretty clear if they can rent that space out, that's what they are going to do.

I have to say when it comes to Alex, Justin and I, we are pretty much on the same page.  The focus of the group needs to be out in the community.  We have different views but we are all looking in the same direction.  Alex was probably surprised how much support I gave him.  Justin clearly sees me as someone who has good ideas to move this group in that direction.  Not only that but it's well thought out ideas covering many bases at once.  Kevin just wants me to shut up.   He doesn't want to change or deal with it.  The rest of the group is starting to understand what we do is probably not what we are going to be able to continue doing.

I don't think any of us signed up for all this shit around management of the groups.  It's just something that comes with territory.  We love what we are doing enough to deal with the shit.

I love all your grading groups!

Great news about the creek project! If they take down the legacy tree you have now, may I suggest a Seqoia to replace it? I think Lens onto something with 100 ft tall legacy trees  So Alex paid enough attention to Justin about it... sigh. Alex is just the agent of austerity. He might be looking in the same direction, but maybe not for the same reasons.

I got some new pics of my borage for you. These ones are just normal, too bad I lost the neat looking ones.

I decided to just cook the entire package of sausages at once. Since then Ive decided to eat the entire package of sausages at once

We all have our own reason for looking in that direction. The question is how to we help each other and be a team?

I have spent all day talking about this with people.  I've had this information for 2 weeks along with a couple of other people and we have already come to some conclusions.  Without a big meeting room, we are leaving (kicked off) property.  We will not use the property to educate people.  We will not need the demonstration gardens there.  The property is still available to us but what do we use it for?  We are not going to uproot he demo gardens as a whole and move it somewhere else.  Over the next few years we will be dismantling what we have built because we have no use for that demonstration garden to educate the public.  (If I lose my legacy tree, they won't dedicate another tree to me.  They will have to honor me in some other way.)

At least that is our thinking based on the information we have.  It takes a while to process.  It's all up in the air at the moment and we can't make any solid plans.  Shocking and depressing when you start to think about it.  But I see it as reinventing ourselves and I'm working on a vision.  I'm dreaming and we know I love to do that.  I have brilliant ideas.

But now I'm thinking, all the educational plans I was trying to point the demo garden leads to doing didn't involve the building except to pee.  The two barriers to those plans was parking and PR.  We can work with parking because that was for really big events and we already do that for the plant sale.  The PR could be something we ask the Extension for as the support they provide us.  I'm thinking if they can get the people there, we can keep our gardens.

Day of talk and thinking.   Makes life interesting doesn't it?  But enough for today I need some sleep.

Yeah you always have those people who aren't doing good faith.  I don't change how I act because they are a dick, lol.  Marsha said to me, you have to think like a man.  There's nothing wrong with thinking like a woman.  Women do amazing things.

If we don't have a big garden to support, we don't need a big plant sale.  But our people love the plant sale and everything around it.  Participation is very high.  I get 50 percent participation at the garden too.  My problem with the garden is it does very little for community education but I was working on that and it didn't include that room.

Definitely need a show.  Could use a GNR show, lol.  They are great for dealing with shit.

Sorry Marsha is on a rant.  I'm suppose to be doing else today.  Not much time to talk.  See you at the concert tonight.  We have a concert right?
